Regular dressing okay if limit to 2 TB?
I am just starting again after a long break. I think I remember you can have regular (i.e., full fat Ranch or Blue Cheese) dressing as long as you limit it to 2 TB. Is this right?
Also, can you eat light butter (I hate margarine)? Thanks! Last edited by afcgirl : 06-20-2005 at 10:59 AM. |

I use regular dressing, sometimes a little more than 2 tbs if it's a larger salad. Just make sure it's under 3 g of sugar and 14g of fat. Hope this helps!

I think the serving size would fall somewhere in that range, as I recall he doesn't say how much, just that it's suggested that it's good oil. He has suggested a good measure would be 1 t for breakfast, 1T each for lunch and dinner. Good Tracy on the breakdown!
Good luck! |

I can't imagine using just 1 TBSP of salad dressing or olive oil on my salad. How do you guys dress your salad? |

The suggested serving sizes are if you're using oils like Olive Oil, etc. Suggestions, not mandatory. Good luck..... |

) The salads I ate last time doing SB were my main course for lunch, so they were on the larger side. |

I hate the taste of plain lettuce, but I also hate a lot of dressing. What I've taken to doing is to putting the salad in a lidded bowl (without the lid, of course), putting the dressing on top (2 Tbsp) and shaking it up really well (with the lid on, of course ). Viola! The salad is completely dressed. |

I make all my own dressings and I tend to make most thin in case I want to use more than a little. If you have a chopper/blender thing they are a snap. I just bought a magic bullet yesterday and I am concocting some amazing stuff.....just pure magic! I've probably used it like 20 times in the near two days I have had it. But I have other choppers and have used a hand wisk, blender, etc in the past....
Cesar Dressing 1 coddled egg splash of cream lemon juice olive oil salt pepper cayenne worstershire sauce garlic cloves parm cheese Italian Dressing Olive Oil Vinegar/red wine/apple/white/sherry Cooking Wine Oregano Basil Salt Pepper Lemon Juice Parm. Cheese Make it creamy add one or more of the following Mayo Sour Cream Yogurt Greek Mint Oregano Olive Oil Salt Pepper White Vinegar Lemon Juice Garlic Cloves Buttermilk Ranch Any Dairy you want, like milk, cream, even soy milk. Add a splash of Vinegar or lemon juice to it Will curdle and make your buttermilk part olive oil lemon juice basil cayenne garlic cloves mayo or sour cream green pepper carrot I just put various amounts in my chopper and add more liquid if too thick and more cheese or herbs if too thin. I don't measure much, it's annoying....These are just those off the top of my head. I make tons and tons of different kinds....mmm mmm good!!!! |
