Help!

I don't think I am eating enough. I keep tracking everything at fitday.com, and including breakfast, lunch and a snack, I have only consumed 535 calories. When I add everything else for the day in, it still less than 800 calories. However, if I eat all of that I will have 31 grams of fat. Isn't that too much? Also, it has taken me over an hour to eat my lunch! For some reason, it takes me forever to eat raw veggies. What should I do?

Hi heavin, you definitely need to eat more. We have to eat or we'll cave one way or the other. Eating veggies isn't going to help a lot with your calorie intake but it's surely a good way to get good nutrition and fiber in.....

On eating the raw veggies, how about using a food processor if that would help.

Yesterday while I was in the grocery store they had a couple bags of tomatoes they had sacked up for clearance, 6 lbs for $1.00, well, I definitely couldn't help but get one of the bags, what a buy!

I picked out 6 of the tomatoes which needed to be used first, put those through a few pulses (like 20) in my mini-processor, bowled that......

then did the same thing with some celery and cucumber I had, put that in with the tomatoes.....

then I added a little rice vinegar or I could have used lemon or lime juice, chopped garlic and a little salt and had the most wonderful gazpacho which is easily eaten and such a great veggie dish.

Keep posting, that's how we get ideas!

Hope this helps!

Marva

Thanks! I love veggies, and as soon as I have some free time, I will try making gazpacho. I guess I can eat some more protein, too... I was just worried about consuming too much fat.

This board is so helpful!

Skinless chicken breasts! Fish! Both have very little fat and will help up the calories! Yum!
