Hi everyone: I'm new

Hello,

I just started the south beach diet after many failed attempts at dieting for a short time --- followed by overeating, following by dieting...

I'm on day two of this diet and find myself VERY very full! I never ever eat breakfast so having eggs and bacon (moderate/small portion) is making me very full. I feel bloated and can not fit into my stretchie pants comfortably.

I'm drinking plenty of water and started exercising last week. Do you think I'm doing something wrong? When I did weight watchers I had similar issues which caused me to stop.

Thanks in advance
Natalie

Hi Natalie, welcome to SBD and I see it's your first post, welcome to lowcarbfriends!

Many things can factor into this, nothing that I'm sure can't be adjusted so you can feel good and not bloated. One being the addition of more salt with the bacon and eggs along with the additional veggie carbs and fiber if you aren't used to it.

Short term dieting followed by overeating, etc confuses the body, it won't take long for it to adjust to a good, healthy way of eating.

Good job on drinking the water and exercising. Why don't you post a menu, maybe that would help.

Good luck and keep posting,

Marva

I'm not quite sure on how to answer your question. There may be others with better advice but I'd suggest not eating eggs every day. Breakfast is important as you are coming off a fast and need to be fueled to start your day. Eggs have a tendency to make a bloated feeling and that may be the reason you are having problems. This doesn't happen but to a few of us and eating a little lf cottage cheese with tomato on romaine maybe would be a nice change. Or there is non-fat plain yogurt that can be flavored either sweet or savory for a change.

Your body is going through some big changes with not being use to eating in the morning but you will start feeling better if you pick from the ph 1 food list and tweak some things. Getting back to basics is what it's all about. I have been eating this way for 2 years now and have never felt better. I have lost all my weight on this program and know it works if you just give it a try.

Is there more out there with some other suggestions? Pop in and share.

Welcome Natalie! I'm starting South Beach too. I WAS on Atkins. I think it was too restrictive though, I couldn't really remain on it and feel satisfied. Keep posting and visiting the boards. People on here are very nice and helpful.

Blessings,
Compassion
