help help help!!!

I can't believe the level of my denial....I have not been on the scale for a LONG LONG time

I have been on SB for 15 days - clean - did not weigh before I got on so I thought I may have another 30 lbs to go after my initial loss

uh...er...uh.....

I can't believe how much I weigh...I have to go back and weigh again because I think I am in shock...can that be????

how can I weigh so much??? I have been on a diet all my life...why am I such a blob??? I have been on atkins, low fat vegetarian, you name it and still I am horribly overweight..help!!!! I exercise - OMG!!!!!

I am glad I confronted the scale today...but sorry to know the truth...but how else can I conquer my weight? I can't keep dealing in denial!!!

I am thinking: diabetes, thyroid, hormone (post menopause) ....

I know sb is a healthy woe but I feel like locking myself away and not eating for a few months...I am apalled and aghast...

We would love to help you! Maybe if you weighed or even measured when you started you would have a point of reference. I'm sure with a 15 day clean SBD eating plan that you have lost some weight. Do your clothes fit any different? Do you feel better? More energy, etc.?

At the very least, you know where you stand with the scale right now. I would definitely measure as well because as we all know the scale doesn't tell the whole story. Give the program a few more weeks. Try weighing once per week and see where you are this time next week. Drink your water and get in exercise. Weights are great in addition to cardio. Come here often and post so we can encourage you.

This program does work. There are many success stories on this board. I know I felt like this program was a gift from heaven for me and has turned out to be the answer to a prayer that I have had for all my adult life. Don't give up now. You should be entering Phase 2 and you want to start adding back the good carbs. I'm sure you know that starving yourself is not the answer. Starvation is not an eating plan. SBD, Atkins, body for life, etc., these are eating plans and plans that can work for you for life.

We would all like the weight to be off in a week or so. That just won't happen. I have 15 pounds to go and have basically been stuck at the same weight for about 6 weeks. I had thoughts of the water or meat fast or soup diet but I won't do those things. They are not part of a healthy eating plan for life and that's what I have to focus on and so do you. You can do it! I know you can. Please post again so we know how you are doing. I am worried about you.

I understand gofifi, Now that you've faced it, you can set a goal...I think you've made the hardest step.

I have a friend who banished scales and full length mirrors from her house, said she wasn't going to get hung up with all that....she did that for 10 years and one day saw a photo of herself that her "monsterinlaw", but really her friend took and couldn't believe how much she had gained. She got her act together, got some scales and did so awesome losing 80 something lbs and is still in process - progress of getting to goal and loving herself again.

We all come here with a war chest of issues gofifi, some are just different from others, but none of us are without them or we wouldn't be here......but one thing for sure, there are hugs, understanding and support with these guys, you're in good company.

Good luck on our journey back!

Marva

thanks guys

I am glad to know the real numbers...in my rich fantasy life I was hoping that all these %&%$#ing diets would have gotten my weight down.....to something much closer to goal

ah well....

yes, I will stay at sb for at least a month...I do think it is a good long term plan...as the scale moves downward I will be most pleased

the truth will set you free (I hope)

Have your thyroid checked, hon. It can't hurt. I have hypothyroidism myself and when I was on meds I lost a LOT faster. I'm currently borderline, so I should probably be on meds, but I hate taking pills. Heck, I can't even REMEMBER to take them. Anyway, other than that, you have great advice. Be kind to yourself, hon.

don't worry about me I am fine..just not a happy camper knowing how much time it will take to get to goal weight

actually, I feel fine and better since I started sb (17 days ago) and don't FEEL anything like what the scale said.....I just don't want to allow this experience to UNDERMINE my self esteem.....but heck....I was walking around thinking I was MUCH closer to goal -

I'm fine and it's better that I know the truth..that was one of the very few areas of my life that I was having with - one more demon confronted

it's ultimately good for the soul...and now I know EXACTLY what's going on

gofifi, I did a reply earlier and for some reason it never made press, guess I hit the wrong button.

I'm so glad you feel better since starting SBD and are moving past the scale issue. It's an awesome program, we just have to get all things clicking. I've had the same struggles, just hang in.

I'm also glad you're posting, we'll make this work! Barb had a good idea, worth checking into since so many of us are plagued with hypothyroidsim. We have a lady on this lowcarbfriends board, nonstickpam who is so helpful and informed with this if you suspect you might have it.

Good luck!

I'm so glad to hear that you feel better doing SBD. I can't remember feeling better than I do now. I have more energy for intense work outs. I even accepted a position at work that 107.5 pounds ago I never would have had the confidence to accept. I am loving life despite the ups and downs we all go through. I actually don't think I started really living until I lost this weight. That's kinda sad but it's the truth. I'm just so glad I found this program. And I'm so glad it's working for you too!
