Monday Check In - June 6th
Good evening~morning beach babes,
to our new members and posters. I'm getting this up a little early so the evening posters can start us off. Hope everyone had a great weekend and are ready to do some serious beaching! Be back later~Monday is weigh-in day for me. I weighed at the gym today and I was still the 2 lbs down I had gained on the trip last weekend plus another 1/2 lb.......whoosh me, whoosh me please. Good Monday morning everyone!!!
Marva--heres hoping for whoosh Denise--you continue to amaze me. You are back exercising having a baby 2 weeks ago and doing a 4% incline. I still cant do a 4% incline and I had my baby 6 years ago.. Ally---congrats on doing good... Hi everyone else. I will catch up with the weekends post today. I did well over the weekend. We went to Bennigans for lunch on Saturday and I had the chicken ceasar salad. I made Tequila Chicken last night and it rocked. The recipe is on the message board. Didnt make it to the gym all weekend so no exercise. Also weighed this morning and am at 138. Exactly 28 days until Mexico... I cant wait!! Someone asked in a previous post and I never got around to answering about what where we are going so here goes. We are going to the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar for 10 days in Riviera Maya--about 40 minutes south of Cancun. We have been there before and DD and DH really love it. I dont like going to the same place twice but they really wanted to. We are having a playafiesta 05 from another message board that I belong to. We are all getting together and meeting one another. So far there are about 80 people coming. Should be fun!!! Weather report here is hot, humid and sunny. Finally!!! Have a good one everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

Good morning ladies,
I don't have time for personals right now but I will try and come back and do some later. I also want to get over to the weekend thread so I can read about all your good times from the weekend. Things are fine with me. I went to a graduation party yesterday and ate before I went so I wasn't tempted by all the off program foods and desserts and that worked well. I also saw two of my brothers for the first time since I started SBD (the live out of state) and they hardly recognized me as I came across the yard to give them big hugs. I was telling my one brother who was teasing me that I was still his big sister and he looked at me seriously and said, "Lisa, no you are not my big sister anymore". That was just priceless! I gotta run but will stop by back later. Have a great and healthy eating day gals!! ![]()

Exercise done for the day. The only thing I"m really having a hard time with these days is getting enough calories!
That's hard to believe. I think I"m gonna do P1 this week just because I'm sure there was sugar in one of the sauces I had on the weekend. After that, I'll start my experiment with phase two. I think I finally got enough sleep last night. Went to bed at a decent hour, plus I had a nap yesterday after I went to the gym. I have a meeting tonight during my usual gym time, so I might have to do Tae Bo at home instead. justmarvi: how did your weigh in go!??! allykat: sounds like you had a great weekend... pompom: i'm going to have to look up that chicken recipe!! your trip to mexico sounds like it's going to be a blast. do you have your bikini picked out already?? zeraspride: that's such a great story (about what your brother said)...i bet you were on cloud 9 the rest of the weekend!! barb: good job getting your exercise in already!! i also noticed on fitday that my calories are significantly lower than before, and i just wonder with all the exercise i do if that's good...suggestions anyone?BBL!! Just starting today (if u read my new thread) Had 3 HB eggs this morning for breakfast, a string cheese about 10:30 and will do a chicken caesar for lunch. That is ok, right? I know this plan is similar to Atkins induction for phase 1... but I just wanna make sure.... Have a great day all!! |

Yah, I am down another pound plus the 2 from last week which weren't really a weight gain so that's history. I am really into this eating a higher carb/calories meal once or twice a week. I think it works at least it seems to for me. Anyway, I've changed my stats.I just don't think I could have done this well without you all . I've hung around our SBD thread for a long time now, this is way better than any meeting for support and I've been to plenty, I've never felt intimidated, always have been welcomed back if I've been way. All we have to do is show up and instantly have friends and support along with incorporating this great way of eating. We don't even have a leader to blame leaving on "'cause we don't like her or she's not looking so good and how can she tell me what to do when she doesn't do it, ever heard or said that?". I've never seen anyone not supported and not welcomed here .....to all you guys out there who we miss, check in and let us know how you're doing.....to all you who need support and structure, come on in, no chiefs in this abode. Yah Barb, oatmeal is a good choice, P 1 is good, most don't even eat the beans allowed in it. I can't remember seems like it was oatmeal or a fruit, I just remember my first reaction to fruit. I think we need to always eat a little protein with either to nix the spiking. Lisa, I always miss you when you're away for even a day. Glad your weekend was fun and really, how precious that experience really must have been with your brothers Hi Pom, I'll have to check the Tequila Chicken recipe out....You vacation sounds like a blast....meeting 80 online friends, that will be a blast! Morning!
Ally, I haven't weighed since Thursday. I almost caved this morning but talked myself through it. It is so hard! Thanks Pom. It's amazing how great I feel after two weeks. With my first I felt so bad for a few months. My guess is because I was on bedrest for 3 months with her so my muscles broke down a lot. Now I feel like I haven't even had another baby. Your trip sounds amazing. It'll be here before you know it. Good job at the party Lisa! I bet your brothers comment made your day. Barb, Great job getting your workout done already. I too have the problem of not gettting enough calories. It's funny since I used to be a binge eater and a recovered bulimic but now I'm eating very healthy and exercising and I have to keep watching my calories because they go too low. Never thought I'd have that problem! The first thing I added in was fruit (berries and cantaloupe). I'm glad you got a good sleep in rola. Sleep can make all the difference. Jenny, Things look good so far. The only thing is Dr. A wants you to have some veggies at breakfast. Either V8 or 1/2 cup of a veggie. Otherwise it looks great! Today I start back up with accupuncture. I'm so excited. I wasn't allowed to get it during pregnancy so it's been a long time. I also decided to take a day off from working out. I have a massive headache and I worked out four days in a row. I like to take 1 day off during the week so I thought today would be good. It's supposed to be in the upper 80's today. Well, I have to relieve dh of Paige. Be back later.

Denise - My book is @ home.. Do you have a little can of V8 at breakfast or what kind of vegetables? Or for example - put them in an omelette?
Breakfast is the only meal I have issues with - and honestly, I hate eating eggs every day. |

I find I have to get my workout in early or it just doesn't get done! As for beans, they aren't something I can have often as I don't seem to tolerate them very well! I can see that it will be a challenge for me to add fiber to my diet, but I'll work at it. Rola, about my question yesterday; I have a friend here who is Korean and is always mistaken for Chinese, so there ya go! ![]() Denise, I'm so glad you feel so well! I had my second baby at home and I recovered so much faster than with the first. ![]() Marva, as always, you are a source of great information. denise: that's so great about bouncing back after paige..i did weight-wise after DD, but i was just never "skinny" to begin with. then i started slacking on the exercise, and then 20lbs later...ack. i hope that i can follow your lead on my next baby! |

Ok, I've really done myself in. Falling off really s-cks! I felt so happy and great in March when I hit 124 so why the h-ll did I let myself regain 8 freaking pounds back. I said I've restarted and failed, at least two times now, so I'm not sure if I'm being realistic this time. I cut out the whole grain toast at breakfast today and only had two sausage snack sticks so far. And my diet pepsi with Lime . I have brussle sprouts for lunch with a couple of meatballs and SF Jello.This is an insane time of year for me - daughter's dance performance rehearsals and recitals; school letting out with impacts me greatly here at work (child care) etc. I'm afraid that if I don't do something now - I'll be seeing those 140's in no time. YIKES! |

Hi all....
Denise--Am I being too nosey if I ask you what you get accupuncture for?? Barb--I was having that problem with too few calories. I stopped losing and put my food into fitday and was coming up to around 1100 a day and I was exercising. I added in some beans and a SF pudding at night and I started losing again. Rola--- on the bikini. You are too funny... I am not yet into a bikini but have bought a few bathing suits that are 2 pieces.Marva--congrats on more weight loss. You go girl.. Jenny--- . I would put the veggies in the omelet or the can of v8. You only have to do the egg thing for 2 weeks for breaky, then you can have oatmeal or toast,etc. Its pretty nice actually.ok, gotta run and I will check in later. |

Lisa, girl, what an awesome weekend. on your brothers and congrats to your sister! I'm so proud of you for staying OP! On another note, have you seen the new Dannon Light 'n Fit w/Fiber? I tried some, strawberry flavor, I thought it was ok. I love my vanilla light 'n fit, I wish they had had vanilla. Barb - I'd love to have your problem lol. Oatmeal is a great choice, it's very low GI. Welcome Jenny - you'll love it here. Marv - awesome on losing another pound, you did good! I would like to try having low and high days like you, it makes a lot of sense to me, but I am too unstructured and think I would probably use the high day to justify being bad, so for now, I'm just trying to keep making good choices. Denise - I'm so proud of you. It's *so* hard sometimes. I really wish I hadn't jumped on on Friday, it kinda started some bad behavior, but I probably wouldn't have done so well yesterday if I hadn't, so there you go. Have a great acupuncture session. Hey Renee - I'm rootin for you. Hi, Rola, Barb, Shelf, and all to come! Not much to report - for me, the day has just begun. Pom,
I have CFS (chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). The acupuncture has been amazing for both of my medical problems. I have a lot more energy and my heart doesn't race as much. I could really feel the difference when I had to stop. I also have a weakened immune sysytem (from the CFS) so they work on that. I rarely get sick now where before I was sick every other month. I feel like a different person. They also fixed my back. I had such severe back pain and nothing helped but that. For two years I went through chiropractics, physical therapy and drug treatment and none of them helped. I told my doc about it so he did 3 treatments on my back and I haven't had a problem since. It's amazing. |

Denise, that is so cool! Unfortunately, where we live right now, the docs are in the stone age. Where I come from, however, there is a lot of natural medicine. If I were there, I would probably get a full diagnostic done, but I don't want drugs for my conditions. As it is, I probably need to go back on thyroid meds. I sure enjoyed my two years of freedom from pills, though.

Happy Monday!
Its late here and we had such a busy weekend. Dd plays basketball and we had the first weekend summer tourney. 7 games in a weekend But that is my hobby, just enjoying my kids activities, I'm just a cheerleader at heart! I was able to avoid eating off-plan all weekend, which is a concern that I have at the summer tourneys. Lots of time to kill between games. Ice cream is always a favorite stop, and I love HOT FUDGE SUNDAYS Denise thanks for the tip last week on my menu, I have taken out one grain and added an apple. Still not dropping any weight, didn't get to walk this weekend but I will Tuesday I hope. Monday night both kids had baseball and softball games til 10, with a make-up game Tuesday night Could life be better than this??? well... maybe if that scale would start to drop again! Have a great Tuesday if I don't make it back tommorow P |
