Thursday Check In - May 26th
Good evening~morning again beach babes!
I'm sorry I was mia today, long list, time stressed. I had to rattle bones with the hotel~~all the way to national customer servicel~~ last night and this morning, one party couldn't go and I had their room on my cc, I called to cancel that room and the hotel tried to pull rank and say they had a 72 hour cancellation time...wrong, I had a confirmation from January that cancellation was 4 p.m. upon day of arrival.....anyway, I managed to get that taken care of to my satisfaction even though it stressed me out, sorry, I don't dump often. I did take some down time this afternoon and went through my last years journal and on the 22 of May last year, I weighed exactly the same that I weighed last Monday, I'm tickled I'm back and into new territory. but had plenty mental, I don't feel too stressed about my eating on the trip, I kind of know what to expect and I do think I'm pretty centered right now and how wrong can you go with 1 meal being crawfish, no potatoes or corn, I'll find some beans, maybe, just maybe they'll have something grilled. We'll have legal breakfast available and the casino has a wonderful buffet, all the shrimp, etc. you want, yummy salads....I'm excited, of course, I'm taking along a safety net. Barb, Penny and BonnieB and anyone I missed, we're so glad you've joined us and know you're going to jump right in and help us make this even better! Hi to all posters and faithfuls, I enjoyed reading your shares, gotta love a crew like ours! Wish I had time for personals..... I like you are up way too late. We are night owls. I started out thinking this afternoon that because of eating a late mid afternoon lunch that my dinner was going to be a lite on if anything. Well I ended up eating some turkey roll ups that I hand made as I haven't been able to find them in the stores here. Maybe just don't know where to look for them. Welll anyway it worked out alright as it filled me up and now I'm going to try my hardest to not have anymore to eat tonight. Let's hope that I can do this just once. Then I know that the next time will be easier and then I'll be back on that road to making that bad habit go away. Ugh!!! This is sure not an easy one to conqure. I know that I have to get this down or I'll be stuck here and not able to get any further toward my goal. Maybe typing this out will make me see the importance of this!
Sending a big Hello to all who follow me and a big thank you to you Marva for starting us out today. Here is a big have a wonderful time as you will be missed by all of us. I'll try to get back here for real when it is really tomorrow and until then see ya soon

Day three for me, so I'm hoping the hungries will be left behind. I didn't have a big enough snack yesterday morning because I had planned to workout, got my workout in late, got on the pc and forgot to eat until lunch!
By then, I was way too hungry and never really got caught up to feeling satisfied again. Anyway, it's a new day and I even got up and made breakfast for myself and dh! I also packed him a lunch, so he's kinda beachin' with me, even though he doesn't know it. Of course, he'll drop weight faster, being a man and all. ![]() |

Hi everyone.... Guess what, I am finally down to 140 and 2 days until TOM...
Finally... Next the 130's, then 120's and maybe then I will be satisfied. I know its just a number and I am losing inches but the "number " is always in the back of my mind.We are going grocery shopping tonight. We really need some groceries..LOL I had to stop at the Amish store last night just to get food for DD. I bought a big ole box of Minute Maid Brown rice for 1.49. I cant wait to make the shrimp fried rice this weekend. I hope it doesnt affect my loss though.. Daily weather report for the Northeast--rainy, dreary day.. What else is new??? I got a 20.00 tip from a client yesterday so I promised the other girl I work with I would buy lunch today. Problem is I have no clue what to get. I already had steel cut oats for breaky so I want to limit my whole grains to once a day. Any ideas?? She is trying to lose weight but eats 2 donuts every morning and a cheesesteak and onion rings for lunch. She goes to the Y with me and has lost 15 lbs. I would love to be on her "diet" but there is no way. I cant stop at 2 donuts or even 6. KWIM?? Barb---those hunger pains should go away. You shouldnt be hungry on this WOE. Do you like V8 juice? When you get hungry just have about 4oz of it. I know, coming from Atkins, about the carbophobia but for some reason as long as it is good carbs (meaning whole grains, beans and veggies) combined with protein you will lose the weight. I never thought I would be able to eat sweet potato fries and chili and now I eat them both at least 2x a week. Marva---that shrimp/salad buffet sounds yummy. You will do just fine. Sharon---stick with us. You will get right back on track. It is hard and it is a daily thing I stuggle with but right now I seem to be in a zone so hopefully you will get there as well. It helps alot.. ![]()

Good morning ladies,
It's nice and busy around here I see. That's just great. Today is my Friday since I'm taking the day off to get ready for the formal on Friday night. I have a hair appointment at a new salon that is supposed to cater to you - I like that idea tremendously! If I enjoy the experience, I will be switching from my current hair dresser who has been making me feel a bit uncomfortable later (long story - lots of drama). We'll see. Here is today's fashion report. I am wearing a cute short sleeved black sweater type top (medium) and a brown (my favorite color) long skirt in a size 12. I am swimming in this skirt and know this will be one of the last times I can wear it. It was a gift to me and I hate to part with it so I might look into getting it altered. Marva - thanks for getting us started. Have a great trip! I know you will eat successfully because you already sound so positive and like you have a plan. Having a plan is always half the battle. Take care and we will miss you. When do you come back? Sharon - our struggles seem so similar at times. I was thinking about my eating this past week, the popcorn, the hot fudge sundaes (yes, sugar free but still I didn't need the calories). I also drink a lot of pop and tend to eat late in the evening. These are things I can easily remedy and know they will probably help me see the scale go down but they are hard to give up. I am getting pretty comfortable with where I am right now. I have to snap out of it! Maybe seeing it in writing will help me too! ![]() Barb - Day 3 already? You're doing great! Like Sharon said, you shouldn't be hungry. Although I do remember having a period of adjusting to not eating as much as I used to and I did feel hungrier than usual but the feeling passed and I adjusted fine. Making sure you eat your snacks is a big help in not feeling hungry. Pom - great job! You are doing so well. I know I'll never see the 120's, 130's or 140's on the scale so you are my hero girlie!!!! I know you'll get to your goal and I'm sure you'll be just thrilled with how you look once you do! Hi and hugs to everyone that hasn't posted yet!

Hi,
Sorry I've been away so long. I totally went off SB while I was studying and have not been able to get back on. I have gained like 10-15 pounds so I feel really crappy. I'm pretty good once I am doing it for awhile, but getting started is so hard. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm going camping tomorrow, but after I get back, I am commmiting myself to post every day. |

Good morning, everyone. Sounds like this will be a busy weekend. My sis, dd,dsi and friend will be spending weekend at a cabin at the lake nearby. Will grill out everyday, so won't be too hard to stay on track. We'll fish and walk and take care of our gaggle of doggies...all five of the little creatures.
Hope everyone has a very safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. I probably won't get on tomorrow with our schedule being so crazy. Love to you all!! |

Thanks guys! I'm very happy to report that I am feeling much more satisfied today.
I have still been having my coffee with coffee cream, but I'm thinking I'll check out some of the lower fat alternatives. Suggestions anyone? I haven't weighed yet, but I"m mid cycle and tend to retain a couple of pounds when I ovulate, so I'll check in a day or two. I feel really good except that I have headaches unrelated to the woe. That's just my TMJ acting up. ![]() |

i love reading all the posts on the daily check in and how much you all encourage eachother. i haven't been too busy today so i have been able to post a little more... you all seem to be doing so well even if you are on a mini-stall, as i am myself, but reading about your menus and work outs and articles you share and all the other information as to why these things happen even if we're doing it right motivates me to not give up. i am hoping for a visit from the whoosh fairy, i keep chugging my water to get the excess water the heck out of ME! here's to hoping! the only thing i am in a struggle with is working out... im about to post on that after this, maybe you gals can offer some advice to how i can make my life a little more efficient! probably!! can't wait to get replys already! ~jackie~ ![]()

Karla, we hope you stay with us bud, you are like with me every night and if you aren't I say hi....We're here for you if you want to be with us...hope you have a good weekend. As I remember, dd is getting married soon, that is stressful for sure.
Okay beachers, I have been gone aaaaaaaaaallll afternoon long, beauty shop, tanning, walmart, gasing up the car, to the dry cleaners, getting dh new tennis shoes, got me a new duster, picked up supper***gasping for breath***, dh has held up the couch this afternoon. This is our trip, done by me...(anyone relate to that?) now to pack and we'll be off in the morning, no cooking for 3 days. Yippee!***shouldn't have said that, he just brought me an ice cold diet coke, how sweet is that, I'm so easily pleased. ***A pause here.....son and grandson just came to say bye and to be safe, how sweet is that....awwwwwww, I've got great kiddos!......now they've gone***, whew...now as I was going to say..... Happy Thursday! Sounds like everyone will have a nice weekend. I can't wait until I can seen the steady weight loss. Since I started Ph 2 I have not seen any additional loss yet (4 days) The only thing I really have added is a breakfast bar (South Beach) I am so glad that I don't have to worry about making and cleaning up breakfast anymore! At what point do you decide if you can or should add a second item?
Barb-I have been using Coffee- mate Low Carb in hazelnut. It's pretty good. I sure hope it's acceptable on South Beach? It has helped me to give up my favorite breakfast of Choc milk. Everyone have a safe weekend! |
