Weight training while in ketosis. Any special prep?

I am two months into this woe and about to meet with a trainer for the first time. I am 21 pounds down. How do I insure that I don't run out of steam before I am done the work out? I struggle to get through water aerobics. Should I have all of my allotted carbs for breakfast?

Are you getting enough fat? I ask because I just finished a powerlifting meet while only being in ketosis for 2 weeks and I was fine energy wise.

I do struggle to get enough fat. I can concentrate on that before workouts if it is proven to help. My gym is not encouraging of low carb diets so I want to be independent of their advice. Thanks.

I lift weights 3 days a week for about 1 1/4 hours. Nothing crazy- moderately light weights but a lot of reps (usually 3 sets of 25 reps). I like to have a protein shake before leaving the house, and I always bring a Dannon lite & fit Greek yogurt on to the gym floor. I eat it about 1/3 of the way thru my routine.
I also bring along a Premier Protein energy bar( 25 carbs- 30 grams protein). I eat only half the bar and save the second half for the next day. I pre-cut it ahead of time.
In effect, I always bring food and eat it during my routine.
Immediately after the gym, I eat tofu or chicken legs.
I have no fear of eating while exercising, as long as I eat things that are low carb and don't raise my blood sugar.
Many people I know in my gym have trouble getting thru their workouts at times. Often a low carb power bar seems to help them. I carry extras.
You can always burn it off on the Lifecycle.

Your body can and will burn fat if you let it! I would keep carbs low so that you're clearly in ketosis. I fear if you up your carbs you will turn off your access to fat as a fuel source and will not have enough carbs to actually complete your workout. To me, you gotta pick which way you want your body to function (burning carbs or burning fat for fuel) and then "swing for the fences." Just my 2 cents.

I have had my best workouts ever at the end of an intermittent fast while staying LC everyday. If you haven't had a fasted workout, give it a try - it may be for you.
