Heard y'all say it before...now I'm saying it.

Reading Gary Taubes. "Why we get fat and what to do about it." Great read so far. The evidence is so compelling. The book is serving as a great reminder, educator, and motivator to keep doing what I know I need to do. Just read it.

I just spent the afternoon reading it. Re-solidifies my commitment to a low to no carbohydrate diet! Compelling for sure.

Gary Taubes was my first and still in many ways best resource for my current LC woe. If you want to get into it even deeper, I suggest "The Art and Science of Low Carb Living." Big book, you can skim a lot of it and still come out ahead.

Also, a very good and I think important book out this summer, specifically about the unfortunate demonization of saturated fats, and their many benefits---"The Big Fat Surprise" by Nina Teicholz. Haven't read it yet, but have read many excerpts from it, as well as seeing her interviewed several times.

And, I would also suggest for anyone who wants to have a discussion w/a doctor who thinks the only answer to "high cholesterol" is statins, DO read "The Great Cholesterol Myth" and find out, once again, just how much our "modern" nutrition industry is behind the curve of recent research.
There is no success that doesn't have persistence to thank...it's the muscle behind almost everything.
