without searching thru numerous threads about bulletproof coffee and MCT oil threads, i hope i can just take a poll with the group.

1. Who uses MCT oil and who uses coconut oil in their bulletproof coffee?
2. If you use MCT oil, which brand is the best to use?
3. does coconut oil provide the same effects as MCT oil?

Thanks all!
If you cant do something, than you MUST do it.

I use unrefined coconut oil because it tastes like heaven. I tried MCT but didn't think it did anything for me and has no taste. As there are other things in CO that are good for you, I don't bother with the MCT.

I use MCT oil for making mayo. It's quite without taste, so works well to make mayonaise.

1: I prefer using EVCO in BPC, just because it's got a nice flavour.

2: I'm in Germany and use a brand from Hansa Sport. Costs about 9 euros for a liter, not bad.

3: Coconut oil has wonderful antibacterial and antiviral properties. MCT is like coconut oil good for energy from fat, it is very available for energy to the body, so I use both alongside eachother: When I want a nice coconutty flavour or smell or when I am frying something I will go for coconut oil. For mayo I will use MCT. I use coconut oil on my body too, and for oil pulling, and I would NEVER use MCT for that.

A couple of days ago, I posted a thread on the NK boards regarding MCT, it may interest you:

CCO just has a use for your whole body inside and out....I just don't see the point of the other for me. Refined CCO is good for baking, if no co flavor is wanted but to me the taste is so dubtle anyway I don't notice it.

Dear Lord, if you cant make me skinny, please make all my friends fat. Amen.

I use MCT oil for making mayo and for use in anything cold like a smoothie because CO will ball up in little chunks. I use refined CO for frying when I don't want a flavor. I use unrefined CO in BPC and oil pulling.

I believe that CO is only 60 percent (or 2/3) MCT. So that is a difference . . . there is some opinion out there that the body breaks down the medium chains faster. My NOW brands MCT contains palm oil as well as CO.
