Stopping in Just for a Minute..

I've stopped coming to the forum because I've been maintaining for nearly three years, and well, maintaining is pretty boring and there isn't much to say. Today, however, is my 3 year anniversary on Atkins, and I want to offer a little encouragement to people who are maybe just starting out on this way of eating.

I've been eating this way for exactly 3 years, and it has changed my life. I haven't been so healthy and active since I was a teenager. It isn't a diet anymore, but a way of life. To those just starting out, it can very daunting to change, but it will be so worth it. See you next June 9

I've been maintaining for about a year and I don't post as much but I try to stick around for encouragement to those who wonder if they'll ever get it all off and keep it off. Plus, there are always new people who can use a bit of advice or encouragement as well.

Awesome! Thanks for the update. I agree with everyone asking for more info - you say maintenance is boring, but I'd like to know more. What do you eat? Do you still track carbs or calories? Doing any exercise?

I don't really "track" carbs anymore because I stick to core foods. Meat, Eggs, plenty of vegetables for meals, greek yogurt, nuts, cheese, etc. for snacks. I do eat higher carb vegetables now, but no potatoes or anything like that. I know this is rare, but I've never cheated in 3 years since I started this. I just really like the food I can eat.

I never used to exercise until all the weight was gone. Now I run 10-12 miles to week (3.2 miles every other day), and do some sort of resistance training on non-running days. I mean it when I say I've never felt so good physically and Im 49 years old. The plan really works, guys...Im so thankful my doctor recommended low carb to me.
