Gary Taubes Lecture

Why We Get Fat: Adiposity 101 and the Alternative Hypothesis of Obesity: Gary Taubes My son sent me this video tonight. Alex is a 23 year old second year grad student hoping to become a doctor of physical therapy. As most parents are, we are very proud of the man he has become, mainly because he is a good person. Told me they watched this in one of his classes this week and he couldn't help but think of his dad.

He called me one day last week and while we were talking out of blue he says to me, " you know dad, I haven't ever told you this, but I really appreciate you for the weight you have lost. I like the idea of you being around for ever how many years you have added to your life by doing so." As I said, good kid.

The video is about an hour long. 10 mins of intros, 40 mins of history and discussing myths and scientist's teachings, and then 10 to 15 mins of the nuts and bolts. I found it to be worth the hour and would encourage you to watch the entire thing if you have time.

I've seen that speech before, and I agree that it's well worth the time.
