I'm sneaking back in...

I haven't been back in years but now I'm back again. Last time was mainly to lose weight, but this time it's for my health. I'm the lucky one to catch the diabetes bug that runs on both sides of my family....I got sick and tired (literally) of feeling like crap. 14+ A1C last time my BS was checked it was 568...

Anyways, after 2 weeks I feel great!! No more thirsty and hungry all the time. No more waking up to pee 5 times a night. No foot tinglies....Plus I have lost 8lb in the 2 weeks too! I haven't felt this good in like 6 years.

Congrats on taking control. It does suck when the gene pool picks you for one the unpleasant aspects of heritary but at least we know how to take care of this one. Those numbers are scary, I know I was scared when mine looked like that.

Let's us know how you are doing and check out the diabetes forum.

Wow, so glad you're feeling better; those numbers are scary!

I have T2 diabetes on both sides of my family too, and I'm trying hard to avoid it.

Diabetes in my family, too. Though fortunately I'm not even prediabetic but with a SAD that would change fairly quickly.

Welcome back, it's never too late!

Welcome back!! What a wake up call huh? Had the same type of thing happen. A1c was over 11. The Dr. flipped out and wanted to prescribe drugs. I said, nope, I'll try diet first.

I always thought I could avoid it too. Oh that's something my Mom has, I won't get, I read and know too much. HA! Avoidance does require action.

Glad you are feeling better! Hope we see more of you! You might want to read Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. I am re-reading it (the updated version) this guy is amazing! He's got it nailed down.
