Chia Seeds

I have just discovered chia seeds. Made a pudding with them yesterday, which I really liked. I understand that you can add them to soups & stews for thickening.

I will be looking for other ways to use them as they are very good for you.

I sprinkle then on salads, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese & fruit. I do this little combo of chia/flax/hemp seeds that I keep in a small airtight container. I just take it with me and sprinkle on my food

I use them in my shake in the morning. I replace flax(allergic) with them .I use them in meatloaf & wild meats to give moisture. Here is a thread, the recipes start on the second page. There are alot of recipes online.

I whizzed up a few frozen strawberries, vanilla Davincis, about a half cup of water and a tbls of chia seeds and left it overnight. It was pretty good. I should have used a little less water or a few more chia seeds. I poured some over thawed frozen blueberries and it made a tasty dessert.

I was trying to reproduce one of those little chia seed & fruit snack pouches because they have so much sugar.

7/26/15- Wharf to Wharf (6 miles)- I won!
10/17/15- Pebble Beach Zombie Run 11/1/15- Mermaid Serena 10 Mile Run (over the Golden Gate ) 3/12/16- Zion Half Marathon in Zion NP

*My definition of win: I didn't quit, didn't throw up, and they didn't close the course on me.
