Does Ketosis Affect routine blood work?

Just wonder how being in the state of Ketosis affects routine blood work done during a physical.

I know it effects Ketone levels. But what else may pop up on blood work which may be a concern for my doctor? Also do they test for ketones? Don't want a panicked call that I need to come in ASAP.

Nothing, as far as I know. All of my blood test results have been normal. The only thing I've heard is that cholesterol may go up in the beginning when losing weight. Dr. Atkins said this is transient and should go back down unless ther's some underlying medical cause.

Nope. Nothing to worry about.

If you get a urine analysis, they may check for ketones, but not in routine blood work.

My cholesterol didn't go up, but I think that's an individual thing.

BTW, when I first went back on plan and the ketones showed up in a UA, my doctor said something about it, and I reminded her that I was doing Atkins, so I wanted there to be ketones. From then on, they ignored the ketones in my urine.
