UD Wednesday, what's on the menu?
Good morning fine people
I'm cooking a recipe from the Russ Crandall paleo cookbook called gamjatang (pork neck bone soup). Looks interesting. Though I'm not using the potatoes it calls for, I'm keeping it lower carb. And not as sodium loaded as the soup I made yesterday ![]() It should be low cal enough for a DD meal, too. Other than that: steamed cod w/cabbage; shamrock shake (??); scrambled eggs in a low-carb tortilla w/salsa for breakfast in a bit.

B: Everything bagel with cream cheese, coffee, iced tea L: Jalapeno turkey burger with no cheese (unless I decide to go for my usual Banh Mi) D: Keira has softball practice until 7:00, so we'll probably go through a drive through. McDonald's may be the winner, as I told her yesterday I'd share a shamrock shake with her. Darn LCF threads! ![]()

Did not have the shamrock shake.
The recipe was just ok, not great. It calls for soaking the bones for 2 hours, drain and rinse, then boil for 6 minutes, drain and rinse again. I think I'll skip the 2nd rinse next time because the broth had no flavor, even after simmering 4 hours.
