What should I do if the scale doesnt move?
im on my 6th week. The first two weeks I lost a good 15 pounds! Now my weight is going for 225- 224. I weighed yesterday and I was 224. My goal is to wait and weigh again this Friday. Just to see how much I lost in a week. Im scared it wont move... Am I on a stall, it has been probably a good 4 weeks. Also what are your thoughts on sugar free popsicles?

you are still at 2.5 lb a week for the period, which is a LOT. just stick with it. as you go forward, it might slow down, but that's life! good luck.

WOE: LOW FAT/ LC for wt loss, Atkins~Mnt VERY LOW CARBS

Hi! My suggestion is to NEVER TAKE A NIGHT OFF! Do not allow yourself to leave Ketosis! Ketosis is difficult to achieve and no amount of cheating or going off plan will ever benefit you.
I suggest you keep it simple! Lose all fake low carb treats! They have hidden garbage in them and should NEVER be trusted. Keep leaner for a few days. Cut the dairy for a week and see how this goes. I suggest mixing leaner ground beef such as 90/10 and 85/15 fat beef together and making a bunch of burgers that you can heat up when your hungry. Also, What has worked for me as well is making tuna with a bit of fat free greek yogurt and spices and I'll nibble on this as well. So, cut the dairy, eat leaner meats for a while and LOSE all LC treats. DRINK YOU WATER RELIGIOUSLY and you will be right as rain! Hope this helps. Oh, and move your body. Take walks daily... ![]() |

I agree, it could be water retention or maybe you're not eating enough. Was that 1 pork chop? lg. or small? how much cauliflower? Anything on it? Same with talipia, how much and how prepared? Do you chew gum or eat mints? They can have sugar, unless sugar-free, of course.

Thanks for responding!! I had 2 small pork chops with pork rinds as the breading. I'm wondering if it's too much sodium as well..hhmm. I chew sugar free gum throughout the day(at least 5 sticks).....too much???

Denise I would try losing the gum, and I would say there is probably a lot of sodium that could be causing some water retention. Have you tried just doing the Atkins 72 Induction?

I agree with BBare, never take a night off. I'm an old pro at doing that hence the reason I've been doing the yo-yoing dieting thing my entire life. Thanks everyone!! I will definitely get rid of the gum...it's going to be hard. When I chew mint flavored gum throughout the day, it takes away my craving for sweets.

Denise, if you like the mint flavor, make a pot of Organic Mint Tea. I will add green tea to my pot of tea and drink this all day. No sugar subs just the plain mint tea makes it so refreshing, and it helps to down the water we so need. Hope this helps.
Blessings~ ![]() |

I tell myself "If I'm not losing weight, I am losing inches." This way of thinking has helped me lose 50+ lbs this year (started April 2013). If you are doing your part, which it seems you are, the body will certainly do its. Be on the lookout for so-called "low carb" meals and treats, b/c they usually do more harm than good. And if you workout/exercise regularly, make note that that too can cause you to retain water/gain weight. But it sounds, to me like you are doing a great job. Keep going and I'm sure you will see a "whoosh" very soon when you step on the scale! Wishing you much success!

Well, when I want the scale to move, I pick it up and move it to a different spot on the floor. ha ha (actually, seriously, that does work sometimes!).
Everyone has given you some concrete advice. I will just say patience is probably your greatest weapon. Impatience will cause you to give up and probably increase cortisol levels with the stress which isn't conducive to anything we all are trying to do here. I really don't know the longest I've gone without a move; but when it didn't, I just knew that no matter what, I was doing the right things and doing the best I can do. For some reason, I always have 1 week that I just woosh like crazy so my overall average is still a downward trend. The average has dropped from 2 lb a week to 1.8 lbs but that's okay. I am not where I want to be, but I already look and feel like a different person physically and emotionally.

Madmarsha -- Such sage advice -- love it!! You are so correct -- this WOE takes patience and religiously sticking to the plan.
Denise -- If you are doing those two things you can't help but see results. This WOE doesn't allow for cheating without having those terrible consequences of stalling, craving carbs or gaining the weight (been there -- done that -- have the 3XL t-shirt to prove it ![]() Wishing ALL of us continue success as we follow our LC WOE & WOL journey!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Success is not Final.
