Back Again Part 3

Hi everyone, as you can see I havent been on here for the longest time.
WE had the best time in Hamburg but when I got back my Mother was in hospital with suspected lung cancer. To cut a long story very short I became her carer until she passed away on Feb 10th, my brother died 9 years ago so I was the only one . Would you believe her funeral isnt until Monday which will be four weeks after she died. Dieting has been the absolute last thing on my mind but I did stop smoking 10 weeks today and that has gone very very well indeed. For lent I have decided to go back on my diet and will start posting properly next week after funeral.....I totally dread the big weigh in as what with stress and not smoking it wont be good believe you me.
Take care all and next time you see your Mum if you are lucky enough to have one give them the biggest hug.

xxx

Awwww,Jacci I'm so sorry to hear about your mom! I am sure it was really agonizing to see her go through the last stages of her life like this. I can just imagine what you must be going through. I know she's at a place that's pain free and peaceful. You should be satisfied with the fact you were there for her in her time of need! : for you and your family. Still a little more tough time to go through, I know

So glad, you gave up smoking and hopefully, now can concentrate on improving your health!

Hugs Jacci! I am so sorry you, and your family, has been through so much. I pray you are coming into a time of peace and healing.

Be brave for the weigh in. It is what is it. And it is better to start working on it now than to let another six months with minimal control go by.

Welcome back. You are not alone.

Jacci, it's so good to see you back again! I'm so sorry about your losing your mom. You're such a wonderful daughter to care for her through all that, and I hope you got some great, loving moments during it all.

Good for you for quitting smoking! And no matter what the scale tells you, you did what you needed to do during that time. Now you can focus on yourself again.

Jacci...as you can see, everyone of us welcomes you back with open arms and hearts.

Hopefully doing this for yourself will be a good thing to focus on. Stopping smoking sure was a great start. I commend you for that.

Let all of the precious budds hold up another precious budd during this tough time.

Best wishes and for you.

Jacci: Thinking of you and holding you in my heart and sending up a prayer right now, especially today for your Mum's funeral.

What you said to everyone about hugging their Mums was so sweet. I lost my Mum (we all did call her "Mum" and still do when we speak of her) in 1989. You are a precious daughter to give yourself to her as care giver in her time of need.

When ever you are ready, come here. Even if you are not ready to even think about weight issues right now, just come for the support and love. All the JBs are here for you.

Take your time, Love. Don't feel like you need to rush into any more changes right now. Big HUGS to you.

Jacci, well done for your success with smoking cessation.

Death is always an emotional ambush, even when people are so ill that's it's expected so it does take its toll.

Don't dread the weigh-in. It's just a number that reflects where you are right now. It's rarely a decent reflection of what is happening in your personal biography.

I truly feel that we keep a place at the JUDDD hearthside for absent friends and we like nothing more here than for former JUDDD BUDDDs to drop by and take their place with the rest of us and the .

Jacci, I have just found this thread and I am so sorry about your mother. I do hope that the funeral was a celebration of her life and that you will no be able to move forward. You have really had a tough couple of years.

I am, however, delighted to hear that you have given up smoking, you couldn't have done a better thing for your health.

Looking forward to seeing you around regularly. Good to have you back.

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts, they may make me cry but they are lovely. The funeral really went well, I was absolutely dreading it tbh but Mum would have loved it which is what I wanted it to be for her.
The non smoking is going very very well....11 weeks tomorrow and I actually did a DD yesterday so UD today and then the big weigh in will be Sat morn after Fridays DD.
I had some good news however yesterday, I got the 2 year all clear from my bone cancer so now onto yearly checks and my consultant and I quote said it is extremely unlikely after 2 years follow up that this thing will recur so I hope and pray that is the start of a better 2014. I now dont know how I coped with it all tbh but last night I had the first full nights sleep I have had since this all began in December...I have the under eye bags to prove it and feel a million times better for that.
Again, thank you all so very much, you are all too kind...xxx

Jacci, it's excellent news that you have a 2 year all clear from bone cancer. Congratulations again on the smoking cessation.

Enjoy the Spring weather. Get some sleep. Look after yourself.

Wonderful news about the all clear, Jacci! That must feel so good!

I'm so glad your mum's funeral was what she would have wanted. That is a small comfort, at least.

Thank you all again so much! Well the big weigh in today was miles better than I thought, I have put on 10lbs which considering all the bad eating I have done since beg Dec and not smoking for nearly 3 months I am more than happy with that!
So I am now 234 and we are going away to Bruges for Easter so would like to lose 7 lbs. minimum by then which I believe is deffo doable. I'm going to take things easy and I will be happy with losing just 1 lb a week even as I believe if I can lose any weight at all without smoking that will be fab! Baby steps is the way for me now, take care a all and thanks again!

You know where you're starting from and it might have been so much more so I'm delighted that you're OK with this.

Bruges at Easter would be a super time to visit.

10 pounds is not bad at all after all you have been through and giving up smoking. You got this! I'm losing a bit over one pound a week right now and I'm not miserable or suffering at all. In fact I love JUDDD! So, I know you can do this for sure.
