Going to try set UD, DD same every week....

I have been struggling with JUDDD for a few weeks now, still "sorta" following it but more often than not the rotations have been difficult to stick to. I have a pretty set in stone weekly schedule and thought maybe M/W/F will be my down days (600), T/TH/Su (1700), will be my up days and Saturday will be a medium day (950). I know this type of set up has been tried and doesn't work as well as alternating strictly UD/DD, but I need to do this so I can stick to it long term and I think the medium day thrown in and the set pattern will make it easier, even if not as fast. I also have to watch more carefully what I'm eating due to arthritis in my knee, so no more snarfing down Girl Scout Cookies (those things are Pure evil!! ).

Wish me luck.

That kind of pattern works best for some, and does not work for others.

I encourage you to try it. It may be just what your body needs!

(And, as someone who lost arthritic pain whileJUDDDing, I encourage you to try, try, try.)

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

I do this pattern and have done since finishing induction early 2013. It can be a tad frustrating as you go through periods where you seem to have a good weigh-in on Saturdays, only to have regained by Monday - but...that's an illusion. This pattern does work even when it doesn't seem as if it is (in my experience, anyway).

Good Luck!

Hey Becky! I think you are on to something. Go for it! Personally, in my new-found quest for simple thinking (that didn't come out right!)

re-start: how about in my new AHA! moment when I realized that simplicity is best....

I thought about how some lose on 5:2. So, why would I beat myself up if I could not be consistent with every other day DDs? Some weeks I have 4 awesome DDs. Some weeks I have 2 great DDs, one mid day and the rest UDs.

Some weeks, like my recent vacation, I don't have any DDs.

Every week is a fresh, simple start. I think M-W-F would work marvelously for you if it works better with your schedule. The bottom line in IF is that it can be a doable plan people stick to because they aren't restricted and dieting and suffering and deprived every day, day after day.

Good luck, Dear! You may find this new schedule puts you on a role and you have the best DDs ever! We are all rooting for you!

Really, the pattern you are suggesting adds just 450 calories for the week. So in the big picture, you'd lose 1 less pound in a 2 month period than you would by following strict JUDDD. So that's not a big deal, is it?
If you try to stick to classic JUDDD and fail, you're likely to be eating more than 450 calories extra each week.
So do whatever it takes to make it work for you

By the way, what you are describing is simply a little less than JUDDD, and little more than 4:3... both of which work for many, many people.

I'm glad you posted this, it really does put it in perspective for me. I can live with one less pound per two month period if it is easier for me to follow and live with, sticking with it long term is the goal. **and my husband will not be constantly asking me what day it is....up day or down day!

I think your plan will work well Becky! I did Sundays as a Mid-Day for a while and it worked well, and I'd usually end up losing after the Mid-Day.

I'm re-starting JUDDD (and very happy to be back), but I know one of the issues I had last time was the same, not having the consistency of the same Up and Down Days. I also like to have Up Days on the weekends, I am a non-stop eating machine when I'm around my family, which is every weekend. My plan this time is to have M, W, F be Down Days, and T, Th, Saturday and Sunday Up Days, but I've crunched the numbers and will my Tuesday, Thursday Down Days will be lower calories (1650) with my Saturday, Sunday Up Days more lenient at 2100. I think keeping to lower calories during the week will help me not turn into a food monster, because I can easily pack away 3000 calories in a day if left to my own devices.

Good Luck Becky! I think it is a very doable plan. I like MWF DDs, and have tried it myself, only to find that sometimes I want MWF UDs, so I went back to eod rotations. Let us know how it goes!

Good luck, Becky! I think experimentation can reveal a lot. Just track your progress and see how it goes. I love how adjustable IF can be!
