Never was I so glad to be LC

I went out to eat with a friend last night. I had a bunless cheeseburger and a salad, she had pulled-pork sliders, and bread pudding for dessert.

On the way home, she had to ask me to pull over because she wasn't feeling well

I'm convinced it was the bread pudding that did it to her, poor thing.

Your poor friend

Yes, I've noticed that I can eat lavishly and stuff myself a bit overly much with LC and still look and feel much better after a meal. Fat and protein just makes my body run different than carbs, which sit heavy as lead and slow to digest. We won't even touch how sleepy they make me!

I don't recommend overstuffing as a rule, but I've eaten too much before and been much less affected than eating the same or even less of a carbier meal.

What I love about low carb eating is that when I am done with a meal I feel good. Satisfied, calm, comfortable. It's such a great feeling!

On SAD, I had GI distress every time! Bloating, gas, heartburn, and that horrible feeling that I ate too much because I wouldn't stop until I was ready to bust. I didn't seem to have an "off switch" until the food ran out. Now, I often leave food on the plate because I'm done, I've had enough. I don't feel that overwhelming need to stuff more in.

And, I LOVE what I eat. It tastes so good!

I agree that LC eating keeps me feeling good!

But in my poor friend's case, we think the bread pudding must have gone bad - she definitely had food poisoning. (She never overeats!)

I felt lucky to be low-carbing because often I would have shared a dessert with her, but I turned it down last night. I didn't even want any.

Yikes, food poisoning is scarey!

Your poor friend! I hope she tells the restaurant that it made her sick. However, I have heard that it's not the last thing you ate that makes you sick. That's because it hasn't left your stomach yet. In any case, it's no fun.
