Coffee Conumdrum

So weird.
I drink 1/2 caf coffee. I started that years ago when I first went LCarb.
When I entered my calories in (name not mentioned), I just chose 'coffee dripped from grounds' and added in those calories.
Today I took the time to find half caf in the list and no matter how many cups I put in it comes up 0 calories.
Isn't that weird?
WooHOO! I just found 28 more calories for my down days!

I would never in a million years count coffee calories!!! I only count what I put in it (creamer, etc.). In my head it was always 0 and it sounded good to me LOL

I adore HWC, so I gotta go with a light hand on DD's with that stuff. And no, I won't do half-n-half, coconut milk, or unsweetened almond milk on a DD. Doesn't float my boat.

I was counting coffee calories cuz the program said they were there.
I like it black so you will no longer find it on my daily count! LOL

I wonder if it's because it's got a teaspoon of cream in it - and they just don't mention it on the calorie site? I know when users add their own info, they short cut the details. So i've noticed anyway!

You guys are the best. I love this site. I love coffee. I am really trying to get off the creamer. So I limit myself to one cup a day... This stuff is made from corn syrup...awful stuff... After that I only drink it black. Funny this is how I originally drank coffee and liked it then, but I find the creamer addicting so that tells me its not good for me....

My program lists coffee as 5 cals per cup. I'm hardly ever drinking "1 cup" when I'm pouring so I usually just count the additives which, in my case, is 1 measured TBS of HWC. 50 cals of pure delight!

Start Date: JUDDD 1/1/12 + LCHF 12/1/13 (controlling diabetes)
I count 2 cals/cup and brew it one fresh, lovely cup at a time. Then measure the HWC (just measure more on UD).

Oh Pat! You remind me of the time I counted up all the 'not exactly sure, may not actually be there' cals I counted into each day's total. It was, like, 50 virtual cals.

I count 2 calories per cup...guess I'm OCD, too. There are some other things I ignore, though...like calories in my Viactiv, fish oil and other supplements.

I've just decided to try drinking it black on DDs and drinking the Bullet Proof on UDs (w/HWC and MCT oil). I used to love drinking black coffee and just got in the habit of drinking it with the cream and all kinds of delicious sugar free flavors as a low carb drinker. I'm not giving that up entirely (I love it too much) but I realized I was blowing quite a few calories on DDs on my coffee. So I bought some really delicious coffee beans from Intelligentsia roasters and am going to try to enjoy it for the pure coffee taste every other day.

I'm drinking it today and it's very good. We'll see how it goes with hunger, though ....

On UD I use a tablespoon (or just pour). On DD I use a teaspoon. Strangely, both cups taste really good.

I used to go to a little drive-thru coffee place that would hand your order out the window with 2-3 little chocolate covered espresso beans sitting on the lid of your coffee (you know, the proverbial "you" and "your"). That's the only way I've had them--with built-in portion control.
