WOE: Low Carb -- again... and again...
Start Date: February 2015 (and a few other times!

It's not that I don't enjoy being smaller, because I do. I was enjoying getting back into my size 14 pants and thinking strongly about the 12s... then life stepped in.

I won't go into the holiday season, because I was doing OK with maintaining, even with 3 family birthdays and 3 Christmas celebrations to go to. Then Dad needed me down with him to attend to a health situation for a week starting 31 Dec -- the Assisted Living cooks sure knows how to get the carbs into a person -- so I stayed in a guest room there, and the food plus the stresses that go along with being away from home, hubby, work, etc got the best of me. I came home about January 8th, and have been craving "comfort food" since then. Oh, and then I was granted a "separation incentive" to leave my job of 22 years, which also means early retirement, so I only have about 15 more days of work, and this whole thing has been extremely stressful.

The positive side of this coin-of-many-sides is this: my final day at work is 27 Feb. From that day forward I can work on ME, since I have no idea what else I'm going to do with all of my free time! I'll get back on plan, dust off the WII and excercise bike, hopefully go for walks... and get back into the 14s, heading for the 12s. I think I even have some 10s hanging out in a box somewhere.

I will once again get into reading your other threads because I haven't even been lurking... I need your inspiration. I know I have your understanding. Thanks for being there, JBs -- I've missed you...

back to the most supportive group of people you will ever find!

So sorry about all the stress in your life. You did the right thing spending time with your Dad. Sometimes we just have to put the food worries aside and do the right thing for our families. I found that out when my sister was dying.

I was living at the hospital, sleeping by my sister's bed in the hospice ward every night. People brought food. Comfort food. And everyone was grateful and just ate what was there in the family living quarters. We all just had to be there for each other.

Hey! Say goodbye to stress! You are getting to retire! Maybe it is not the timing you wanted, but I'm here to tell you the possibilities are endless!

You will love it and you will be on track and in those 12s in no time!

Welcome back LaceyLady your post sounds like mine a few weeks back. I hope it works out the way you want it to. It feels like the second time around for me was easier than the first. I'm able to wrap my head around the idea better and hope to reach my goal. We are in the same boat! See you around the board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly the most important is not that you went off track or gained weight but that you've already made the commitment to get back on track...that's the hardest part and you're already there.

Congrats on the retirement...I'm also quite envious Enjoy this new chapter in your life!

Lacey Retirement is AWESOME. It took me awhile to actually get use to it. I went a little overboard.
I was volunteering at two places, I was never home! It was a fuller time job.
So I stopped one of the V jobs, which was the thing to do.
Happy retirement!

back LL! You've had a lot to deal with, and I agree with Oceania, that the fact that you're determined to come back is your first major victory. Claim it!

Life does that. All that matters, as the others have said, is that you're returning to JUDDD, already making plans for for a re-boot and considering what exercise you might enjoy.

Good luck and happy retirement.

Jan 2015 A DXA scan shows very low muscle mass (sarcopenia).. I have some joint surgery to schedule. I may miss questions that people ask me or personals. Apologies if I do, it's not intentional.

I like the "re-boot" idea (SS) -- makes perfect sense!! And thanks to all of you for your positive comments. I'm starting to look more kindly on retirement, considering volunteering somewhere (1 place at a time E!) but I haven't looked into it too much yet. It's odd to think we will be able to sleep in until 6:45 or so, and HE can be to work by 8:00! DH told me last week that after he heads to work I will be able to go back to bed -- BACK to bed??? Who says I've got to get UP??!! My attitude is changing for the better. I LIKED where I was 2 months ago. I want it again. So, like with the brass rings, I'll be grabbing for all I'm worth, and in about 3 months -- just in time for summer and camping and all of that -- I'll be back at least close to where I want to be. I just need to repeat that to myself a few times a day!! Thanks all...
