DD Dreams

Wow. Do any of you notice that after a DD your dreams are very vivid and very long?

Last night was the third time that after a great DD I seem to dream in HD. Very intense and I feel it deeply.

I was down hill skiing in my dream last night. It was on a very, very high mountain with lots of snow. There were flips and tricks and I could feel the cold and the powdery snow. Funny thing is I've only been skiing once in my life and it was on the bunny slope!

But in my dream last night I was like an Olympic gold medal winner! Part of the reason for the winter dream may have been that I was oh, so, cold last night. It took me a long time to feel warm enough to go to sleep.

The DD before that it was a dream about being on a very fast train in Europe. We saw all of Europe in about a day.

Anyway, just wondered if anyone else has noticed vivid, wild action dreams after DDs? Or is it just me? Or is it just a coincidence?

That is so funny yam yam. Funny you should mention dreams. Last night I had a dream that I shaved my legs w/ a steak knife. You know times are hard when you have to use the silverware for personal hygiene use! lol

Those are both some interesting dreams, ladies. I haven't noticed any connection with JUDDDing, DD, UD or otherwise with dreaming. Other than, come to think of it, I haven't been remembering many dreams in the last several months. I usually do dream in "spurts". I'll have very vivid dreams for a few weeks, and then don't remember any of them for weeks.

I have never made a connection to dreams being particularly more vivid or crazier after a dd. I just happened to remember mine last night. I usually have a little trouble sleeping on dd's.

I haven't noticed a difference in dreaming but I have found I have hard time falling asleep on DDs, even when I am really tired.

I think I've noticed this, but I'll try to pay closer attention.

I did have a weird dream last night, so that was the night of a DD... I'll need more statistical evidence before I come to a conclusion

I don't remember my dreams often, but (I'm scared to jinx this) the sleepwalking has been much better since the new year. Oh, how I wish this good streak will continue. Fingers, toes, eyes crossed, please!

I remember that last night, I was in a borrowed royal blue party dress, with silver beadwork, and silver high shoes. And i was at a function at a hotel, and there was an issue with a friend who is perpetually late/stiffs, and also with walking a dog.

I woke up bc i was stressed out. But the dress was really nice, and I looked taller and thinner.

I think I've been watching too much "scandal"

I dreamt that I wanted go to the loo but all the bathrooms were filthy! Came out of there and had to wrestle with a black bear. Now that you mention it Yam, it was very vivid indeed, woke up palpitating and yesterday was a DD! I'm going to start paying more attention to these "weird" dreams! I think dirty bathroom may be related to me having to use one in a park while walking, but bear

Yam, Now look what you started! Great

Fun thread.
I'm odd, I hardly ever dream.
My hd does all the time. He flys-floats around in his dreams. He's always done it.
Old faithful me just sleeps.
He can get up the the middle of the night for a bathroom break, come back to bed and get right back into his dreams.
Come morning, I love hearing where he has been during the night

I have two dreams that seem semi regular and I always seem to remember them vividly.

One is I have a class that I need to pass to graduate college at the end of the semester. I haven't even gone to it most of the semester and finals are coming up. I'm all in a panic because I basically need to learn the whole class in like a weekend so I can take the final.

I don't have that one as often anymore (it's been 20 years this year since I graduated college). I had it a couple of weeks ago, though, so it's not gone.

The other has to do with my wife. Either we have split up or for some reason she doesn't remember me anymore. Things like that.

I hate that one as it bugs me all day.

I never get cool flying dreams like Terri's dh.

I have had this exact dream for years too, Frosty! And it's been 24 years for me. I never have flying dreams either, and I've always wanted them.

My oldest son started college this year and it probably gave me flashbacks.

And lest just say that part of the dream may have been based on a reality.

If you don't remember your dreams 'they' say you need vitamin B.

I have lots of dreams but I haven't noticed that they are any more vivid on DD nights. I sometimes have the flying dreams, nice.

I don't recall flying dreams, however, I have had several where I'm driving and I am all over the road. Every time I have a dream where I'm driving I am out of control. Have no idea what that might mean, but when I'm awake I'm an awesome driver.

This is so much fun! OMGosh, dirty bathrooms and fighting a bear!

Yesterday was an UD for me and I had interesting dreams but not vivid or zooming around like down hill skiing. It was more like a mystery story with a plot. It had to do with us coming home from a vacation and finding another family living in our home.

Anyhoo. Today's a DD and we'll see if I'm zooming in HD vivid color again tonight.

Frosty: I have one sort of similar to your school one. I used to have it a lot before I was retired. It had to do with me having to give a speech in front of a huge audience but when I got to the podium, I realized I had lost my notes. And I couldn't remember any of the subject matter. So I start making things up. Haven't had that one in a long time.

I remember my dreams sometimes when I first wake up, then I forget them. Haven't had a vivid dream that I can recall lately.

I've been JUDDDing for almost a week now and I've never had such intense, vivid dreams in my life! I rarely if EVER remember my dreams, so I 100% believe that it is the switch to JUDDD. A little Googling revealed that vivid dreams are very, very common with fasting. So strange! I don't really care for it, but hopefully the dreams will tone down as my body adjusts.

Late to the discussion but just wanted to chime in here. Makes total sense that you dream more on DD's. The more you dream the better your sleeping. I've undergone 2 sleep studies and one thing they monitor is how much you dream. I know for a fact that I sleep so much better on DD's and really just in JUDDD in general. I've been wearing a sleep mask for 2 years so in general I sleep pretty good. But with JUDDD I sleep even better (my apnea machine measures all kinds of things while my mask is on so I have proof my sleep has improved!) and I dream intensly as well.

Very interesting, Andy. I'd have to say that since I started JUDDD my sleep has definitely been deeper and better quality. I almost never get up to go to the bathroom (and that's something I thought would never change). My dreams have tapered now that I'm in week 3 but I'm still dreaming much more than usual. I dream even after UDs. Unusual for me but now that they're not quite as vivid and intense, I don't mind as much!

You may want to investigate the symptoms of sleep apnea. One of the things to look for is getting up at night and going to the bathroom. Something I too used to ALWAYS do. I never realized I had apnea. I wasn't consciously waking up at night, other than once to go to the bathroom. I went to my dr. convinced I had a thyroid issue. I was very fatigued during the day, my hair was falling out, I had brain fog, and a bit of depression, I wasn't able to lose weight. i was thinking it was a million other issues never thinking sleep apnea. I didn't snore, I wasn't conscious I was waking etc. I'm actually on the brink of having sleep apnea. My number is set almost to the lowest level there is. But my issue is that all my apnea was occurring during REM sleep. So it is actually one of the worst for what it was doing to my body. Getting diagnosed and starting on my machine was one of the worst things ever. Until i realized how ridiculous that was. Once I calmed down and got over my ridiculous embarrassment and vanity issue, I eased into using it. It's changed my life and in ways that I didn't even realize! (like how breathing clean filtered air has almost eliminated my allergies and constant sinus infections.) anyways, just throwing that out there for you, or anyone else, reading this.

Thanks for the tip. Insomnia is a major problem for me--not falling asleep, but staying asleep. It's something I've addressed with my doctors, and we've tried different things, but not much really helps. None of them ever mentioned that sleep apnea was a possibility, probably because I don't have the typical symptoms like snoring--interesting that you didn't have that. I take an over-the-counter pill and that helps immensely. But I've been sleeping so much better with JUDDD. Might have to look into this if my constant waking continues, though.
