If you don't like water...

For some reason I cannot drink plain water. I know that water is essential to LC and life functioning in general. What to drink instead of water?

Tastes can change and habits can change. I would challenge myself to drink at least 6 cups of water per day for a week, and then see how I feel about it.

Add True Lemon,or True Orange it is all natural, I drink a lot of Ice tea (unsweetened).

Ive acquired a taste for water...believe me it CAN happen! My son introduced me to sparkling water with orange ( no carbs) Ive done reg water with a slice of lemon...lime....or orange...my bff likes cucumbers in her water...at this point I prefer it to Diet Coke !!!!?! and iced tea...those were my former favorites...! I always carry a commuter tumbler with water..opps I forgot...our tapwater here is atrocious...so I use filtered water or bottled.

I drink water with lemon and on the days I am struggling, I drink Dasani natural lemon flavored water. It is very easy to get down.

I have a hard time drinking plain water also...gives me heartburn and causes nausea. I always have plenty of liquids in the form of teas and coffee and flavored water.

When I started seriously low carbing last January, I drank unsweetened iced tea. It's how I've always gotten in my water because I never liked plain water.

After doing serious low carb for 6 months, I discovered that not only do I prefer water (everything else seems too strong), but I only want it at room temp and that's saying something because I was the *ice queen*. I used to buy huge bags of ice because my freezer couldn't keep up with me. Now I have *one* little ice cube tray in my freezer that hardly ever gets used except for when I'm icing down my hard boiled eggs when they come off the stove.

They used to say that tea, coffee, pop, etc. didn't count as your 'water' requirement. They've since changed that (catching up to what I've also known). So if you don't like water, drink what you do like. My only caution would be to watch the carbs in the artificial sweetener and if you can bring yourself to do it, start cutting back. I think my success this time has been mainly due to eliminating AS.

Try Perrier in pink grapefruit or lemon lime. No calories, no carbs just delicious delicious carbonated water. The colder they are the more present the flavor. They test best when they they are frozen ever so slightly.
