I just recently got put on vitamin D and iron supplements from my doctor. Other than that, I do not take any other vitamins.
I didn't turn out how I thought I would in high school, I turned out better Follow my crazy journey.

"Regular" supps- Multivitamin, CoQ10, Fish oil (mega red), Joint supplement, milk thistle

"craving busters"- L-glutamine, L-tyrosine, DLPA, L-tryptophan, GTF Chromium, Biotin (As per Julia Ross in "The Diet Cure")

Sometimes for the heck of it: gymnema sylvestre, glucomannan, ginger root

I have NO IDEA if any of those supplements do anything for me, besides make my wallet lighter. But I don't think they can/will hurt me, so it's worth a try to me.

I think Dr. Atkins made reference in DANDR to a supplement book he wrote, but I've never picked it up. I know he recommended a slew of supps including a vitamin, CoQ10, fish oil, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and many more. Hope that helps!

I take several (D, B12, folic acid) for health issues, but the only one I take that doesn't directly address a medically significant deficiency is soy-free fish oil. I take that because I eat mostly supermarket meats, which have omega 3: omega 6 ratios that are way out of whack.

B-complex, D, multi-mineral, Magnesium glycinate, K2, Biotin, taurine, r-lipoic acid, Acetyl-l-carnitine, chromium polynicotinate, Omega-3 fish oil, potassium.

The acetyl-l-carnitine has been the only one to make a huge difference in my daily life, but it is totally worth it because it is the only thing that has helped my persistant brain fog. Seriously, I take Adderall and it was the a-l-c that made the fog clear. The Magnesium has definitely corrected a deficiency which was adding to my restless legs. Correcting my very low D levels doesn't seem to have made me feel better, but my doc is happy. She actually asks me about supplements, but that is more because I'm an obsessive researcher with a lot of time on my hands while she has a full and busy life. On the other hand, I can go see her horses!

I went down to nothing but recently due to several health issues I take the following:

- fermented cod liver/high vitamin butter oil (vit D, A and K2, for general immune boost and dental health)
- spirulina (natural B vitamin complex)
- kelp (natural iodine)
- acerola powder (natural Vit C)
- high strength multi strain probiotic (for intestinal health)
- green lipped mussel extract (joint support)
- glucosamine/MSM/chondroitin (joint support)
- biotin (hair and nails)
- magnesium in the form of citrate and magnesium oil from magnesium chloride (mineral to help with all sorts!)
- devil's claw/ willow bark (joint support)
- gelatine (skin/ connective tissue support)
- diatomaceous earth (minerals, skin, hair and nails, detox)

It sounds like a lot when I write it out here, but most of it isn't in pill form, so I add it to my daily fluid intake or in my meals, which makes it easier to take. It is too early in the game to say anything about my joints, as I've only started taking those supplements yesterday. The best results so far I've found are from the magnesium and the diatomaceous earth.

I take magnesium (helps me sleep at night and with leg cramps), potassium (also for leg cramps), St john's wort, vitamin D, vitamin C, vitamin E, garlic, acidophillus and pterostilbene. The multi I was taking did not have potassium in it so I quit taking it after I ran out.
As of 5/19/2014, No longer "overweight"!

I take magnesium (liquid ionic in water plus 2 pills), Alive multi, 5000 mg Viamin D, fish oil, and resveratrol with Vitamin B and green tea, and slow release iron.

OT, sorry.

Greengeeny, I'm curious about your doctor putting you on iron supplements on this WOE. Does he know you're eating LC? Cause with all the meat I consume I can't imagine needing iron supplements.

I read a few years ago that "they" had noticed that pre-menopausal women's heart attack frequency was well below that of men, but once women went through menopause the rates shot up to being comparable. They theorized that maybe excessive levels of iron might be a contributing factor to heart problems and that menstruation operated as a "relief valve" for women.

I haven't done any recent reading on it, so no idea if it turned out to be junk science or not. But give the amount of iron I get from this WOE, I replaced my multi with one that does NOT include iron and never looked back.

Has anyone else ever read anything about this iron/heart theory?

I have low Iron levels, but my dr told me it didn't need to be corrected with Supplements yet.... I make sure I eat plenty of Iron rich foods.

I take B12, Zinc, Calcium, and as a multi I do 4X Flintstones Complete per day (in 2 doses). I also take BCAA pre workout, glucosamine post workout, and sometimes fish oil caps but not every day.

I take Women's One A Day, but I don't actually take it once a day! I take it sporadically - maybe a few times a week - because I figure I get most of what I need from food. That said, I do take it regularly when I'm dieting, haven't been eating right or am feeling run down.

I take only Nutrilite supplements. Whole food from certified organic farms that they own. I take Double X, B complex, Cal Mag D and a number of others. I've found better results than others I've taken before from the stores. Chemicals from a lab versus actual food. My personal thoughts from extensive research and such
