**ATKINS MOMS OF TODDLERS..HELP !!!! **

Any moms of toddlers, under age 5, know they can be a handful!
However, doing Atkins depletes your energy, so how do you cope???

I have gotten into the cycle of drinking a Red Bull Zero or Starbucks Ice Coffee with cream in the afternoon for a quick pick-me-up before I do preschool pickups of my angels in the afternoon, but am still drained! (Need energy for "mommy duty"...meals, bath-time, homework, playing, cleaning...oh & 'hubby time' too!)

I used to eat candy before doing Atkins, so no more sugar rushes.
I jog or workout daily for an hour daily, but still no more energy.

Any tips?

My youngest is 4 yrs old and is an energy zapper. But I don't get the energy slumps that I used to get before starting Atkins. I usually just have a cup of coffee mixed with a protein shake at breakfast and at lunch, along with my regular meals. Exercising also helps. So I'm really not doing anything different than what you're already doing. I do know that if I don't get some "me" time in, I'm more mentally tired than anything.

Thanks. I guess I will stick with the Red Bull Zero since coffee has started to cause me to have chocolate craving. A friend suggested yoga, but ironically, I have no time to relax! I have bought some yoga DVDs, so maybe I can get up one morning early & test it out.

It sounds like you might need more sodium. Some homemade broth or even the canned kind mixed with some butter and cream is delicious.
