HYP & Swollen legs
Diagnosed with Hypo about 8 yr ago.Had too many problems on synthroid and have been on armour for about 2 yrs. Things have been going ok but now my legs are swelling up again to the point that I dont want to walk at times.
I am taking 120 mg armour. Last blood work shows
TSH 1.20 range 0.40-4.50
T4free 1.1 0.8-1.8
T4total 8.6 4.8-10.4
These are all the tests that primary will take.
Legs swell then body aches so I take an NSAID and the swelling is worse.
I have seen toooo many doctors and now primary wants me to see a integrative medicine dr.
Any ideas? Has anyone had these problems?
I cant go on like this anymore.
Thank you in advance.

well, first of all, are you wearing compression socks? if not, get them! they make a huge difference. I have chronic edema and the only time I don't have mine on are showering and lying down!
I recommend Jobst brand, but there are a lot of good ones. Look at the site BrightLifeDirect to get a range of what's available. They are shockingly expensive, but the technology to get the correct compression at every point is pretty complicated. They are not just stretchy socks like some of the cheaper ones.
For me the 20-30 compression level is best. They recommend against the 30-40 for diabetics, plus I found those would crease in places and really cut into me. I like the Jobst for Men style, because the stretch is best for my long legs.
Whatever you do to try to fix the problem internally, wear the socks too! it will make you much happier!
best of luck *hug*
