pepperoni ?

I am having trouble finding any pepperoni that doesn't contain dextrose in the ingredients. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hormel contains "less than 2% of.." including dextrose.
Your best bet is to limit the servings

Ingredients: BHA, BHT with Citric Acid Added to Help Protect Flavor Ingredients: Pork, Beef, Salt, Contains 2% or less of Water, Dextrose, Spices, Lactic Acid Starter Culture, Oleoresin of Paprika, Garlic Powder, Sodium Nitrite, BHA, BHT, Citric Acid.

Most cold cuts will have some dextrose in it, if you're looking to make pizza if you a have a real italian store around, they make sausages without sugar or flour. (filler)

I do eat the hormel but I do limit the amount within my carb limit!!

And have you weighed out an ounce, which I believe is a serving size listed on the package? That's a lot of pepperoni. There's just over half a gram of dextrose in the ounce of pepperoni, so that's less than 1 carb from the dextrose per oz of pepperoni.

I eat it.

I just buy the Hormel pepperoni and don't pay any attention to the ingredients. I've never had an issue with the added stuff; the protein-fatty goodness overrides all else.

I've lost 131 pounds

I eat the Hormel as well. I typically eat about a third of a serving, because a serving is a LOT.

Isn't it annoying? I have not found the low levels of dextrose, corn syrup, etc, to be problematic,as long as you watch the carb count. They can be 0 (which really means less than .5) or as high as 3 or 4 carbs. So be careful. Try to opt for the specialty stuff when you can afford it and find it.

It really makes me mad that they add these things to EVERYTHING. I went to pick up some bouillon to help get me through my re-induction. Did not notice until I got home that the first ingredient was corn syrup solids, followed by MSG and a bunch of other crap.

So I roasted a medication-free chicken instead and made my own. It was
5' 8"
Lost 65 lbs on Atkins in '04/met goal. Had two kids and it all went to hell. So here I go again...for the LAST time!

Mini goal 1: Onederland by October 27 (Met Oct 24!! )
Mini goal 2: 189 by November 30 (Met Dec 3!! )
Mini goal 3: 184 by December 30! (Met Dec 21!! )
Mini goal 4: No backsliding through Christmas, start New Year under 185!
--I did it, survived a Mexican holiday with tequila and pico de gallo and came home 3 lbs lighter!
