Does Beef Make You Lose More

I remember a while ago there was a thread about how a lot of us found that eating beef makes us lose more.

I went and made a White Castle pie to help make my loss a lil speedier. Just wanted to see if people are still finding that to be true.

Hmmmmmm..... I've never heard this. I'm interested to see what others have to say. I do eat beef most nights for dinner, but I've never noticed whether I eat it or not makes me lose any more quickly.

Yes. Red meat definitely makes me lose faster than poultry or seafood. It may be the fat content, but even when I eat fatty fish, it's not as effective as beef or pork.

I have actually done a couple of "red meat weeks," during which I only ate beef and pork (lamb is too expensive) as my protein, and it helped me get past a little hump. I don't bother too often, though.

I've seen articles where bodybuilders will do a "steak and eggs" diet before a competition. But I wonder if they would have had just as much success if it were chicken too? I need a little bit of variety with my meats and will sometimes do days of chicken and eggs followed by days of steaks/hamburgers and eggs. I don't think it made much of a difference but I don't keep track of what I eat either.

Totally. There's nothing like 3 days straight of bunless cheeseburgers to feel skinny.

If that were the case, I would be skin and bones by now! If it is possible to be addicted to beef, I probably am. I love beef and I generally have it for at least one meal a day. If I go a day without beef, I feel deprived.

I would fall into that category also. Eat a lot of beef here, also.

Everyone has a different experience...bet I'm the first to ever say that

This thread really reminds me that I should go get some ground beef and starting having the cheeseburgers again for dinner. Been getting too fancy and should go back to basics

I am a huge beef lover. If it does make me lose more, I can live and die off of it (and eggs).

This is way interesting! I've never heard this before, and I've always had too much variety in my eating that I wouldn't have been able to make any conclusions .

It is my fish-to-lose, too.

My body will lose best when I eat something different every few days. After a few days it seems to get used to whatever it is I'm eating. Just changing from beef to salmon to poultry keeps the losses coming for me.

But, I sure wish I could afford to eat beef every day!

That is interesting - I do suspect finding new approaches as being just the effect of changing the food. I hope it isn't true, but I am wondering...

Hmm, this has me thinking when I was at goal in 2010 I lived on chuck roast and ate lots of burgers and was rarely hungry and never even needed a snack. Now I eat lots of chicken and fish and always seem to be reaching for more food due to between meal hunger.
