DD question
Is it ok to completely fast on DD's? I find I don't get hungry until I actually eat. I think it will be easier to just not eat at all. If so do I have to increase the UP calories?

A few people do. I'm similar, if i can avoid breakfast I'm fine until dinner! It is certainly ok to do it - it may or may not work for you in the short term - but it should work in the long run - I think - you get the calorie deficit & the swing.

I have read a few articles on alternet day fasting and for the vast majority of people having a 20 to 25% DD is much easier for them than a total fast on the DD. But Dr. Johnson does say in the book that it realy would be better ofr the DD to be a total fast day but no one can do it.
I find that once I start eating I get a little more hungry. But it's not an all or nothing thing with me. My DD calories come up to 580. If I keep my DD calories at or below about 500 i am not realy that hungry. But if I get a little lax and eat 600 or 700 I find it hard to stop till hit at least 2000 calories. |

Dr. Johnson says that a total fast is ideal, but recognizes many would not want to do that eod so he arrived at 500 or less.

It is entirely up to you. A lot of us find it easier not to eat until the end of the day, and I often think that if I wasn't preparing food for DH I could easily go with nothing.

Nothing seems a lot easier to deal with than trying to figure out how MUCH I can have for 350 calories! I spend most of my DD calculating "if I have this, then I only have this many calories left... so I should have this...but that doesn't sound good..." ***sigh*** May try the "nothing" route and see how that goes!

There's nothing wrong with fasting completely, and may be ideal. Dr. Johnson considered it ideal, but improbable for the majority of people. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.
