Thanks for the start off, Doris

Just marking my spot. Tomorrow will be busy. cleaning gal is supposed to be here and then I have to take my car in for it's 5,000 mile check up, tire rotation and oil change. That's about 45 min. away.

See all of you sometime tomorrow.

If anybody has FaceTime on their Ipad and wants to talk/see with me sometime, I'd love to do it. So far, I've seen/talked with three of my kids, one more to go. Plus surprised a neighbor and did it with him. (He's two houses away...lol).
Have to do a bit of grocery shopping today, etc. Not much else going on here. I never left the house all weekend.
Doris, it's quite a change for you being so close to family, etc. Enjoy! Hope your DS gets an encouraging report.

Lol....I HATE face time, Julie. Just talking about it Saturday with a friend who agreed with me that there is NOTHING that makes us look so old and ugly as Face Time. If a certain former NY public official sent women certain photos using Face Time.......

Nothing much planned today except working in the garden.

Doris, hope your family gets good news.....

Have been gone from low carb friends for years but trying to lose on my own is not working. Have been watching the calories (1300 to 1500 daily) and swimming laps a hour a day for 5 days a week. That is supposed to burn (600-800 calories each time) and have lost 1 lb in 2 weeks. Time for a change so looking into something different. Any advice is appreciated

Hello. This is only my second post. I posted first in the newbies thread, I'm guessing, about 10 days ago. I have been reading up lots on low-carbing since then and today is Day 1 for me! I'm looking for a place to be accountable and thought this might be it. I'm also going to start a journal as I think that might be beneficial for me also.

Is this a once a week check-in kind of thing? Or daily? I am SO anxious to get some weight off. I sure hope this works.

Hey y'all...and welcome our 's This is whatever you want it to be Jillybean...we're a group of older folks who check in mostly daily who love to chat. Some of our folks have been here a long time, others not so long. Hope you stick around long enough for us to get to know you. And Cookie, wishing you the best too. We have a couple of threads where people list their menus and exercise that you may want to check out as well. We all know we do better if we're accountable to someone else and you may be able to help us, too.

It's only in the 60's this morning and I'm certainly enjoying the coolth before it goes back up this week...It's summer ferchrisake what else do you expect, Mary?

Ran the 24-hour thingie over to the VA this morning and hit every stop light, got behind a slow moving truck through the canyon, and, of course, got to the hospital after the parking dance had begun....started over to the new parking center hoping to find something there and a truck was parked in the one-way lane so had to back up and go around...but I always forget THINGS HAPPEN FOR THE BEST, ALWAYS!!!! Just as I'm making a turn to go around the building, I saw someone walking to their car and followed them to get a really good parking place...I repeat, Things always happen for the best.

Thanks for the reminder,Doris, that it's the last week of July....that means I've got to send out the checks so they're ready for the first....be so much better if we didn't have to pay 'em, huh?

Stayed inside all weekend, now it's off to the casino for a quick run at the slots...use their funny money and run. Have a good day, all, and find something pleasant to do today.

Hey again...just after I walked back into the house and said hello to the fur kids, phone rang...the Endo clinic calling to tell me the results of the 24-hour thingie. It's all good...normal, so whatever it was the doc was going to put me on, furged about it...so, it's all good. Just have to take the dexascan in September and start back on the Reclast come the fall.

Of course, I won a bit at the casino but stayed too long at the fair and gave it all back plus a bit...oh well, I keep saying I'm notta goin' to do that again. One of these days I learn.

So that's it for the day, hope you had a good one and good things came your way.
