Curious for ages....microwaving question

I've been curious for a long time and have not been able to find an answer.
I love my nuked pepperoni and cheese! What does micowaving do to the nutritional content??
I even emailed hormel at one point and asked what micowaving did to the content. Seeing all the oil left behind on the paper towel, it MUST change the calorie and fat content, right??
Anyone know?

I would think so, but unless you're willing to do some pretty fancy calculating and weighing, I'm going to suggest that 25% of the fat cooks out

I think that's probably safe.

I think that's a good guess. They sure are lighter!

It's like comparing bacon cooked on pt in microwave vs fried... The microwave way is far leaner.

That may be the way to tell how much fat renders out. Some apps have different cooking methods.

You could probably weigh the paper towel before you microwave it, then weigh it after and use the weight difference as grams of fat removed from the pepperoni (or bacon).
That would be very rough because more than just the fat would render out, some would be water or other things (I think, I'm not a food scientist lol).

If your pepperoni is aged , theres very little water in it. Weigh the pepp before and after

But, don't sweat it bc we aren't counting fat grams.

lol well, this is a very diverse site.
Some people do count carbs, calories or fat so it could be important
I stand by my 25% guesstimate
