Exercise July 11 ~ July 21

Keep on keeping on. So thankful to be able to move at all.

Walk and workout upper and lower body. Saw a few deer this am.

Stay with it folks. Don't let it get away from you.

I *hate* exercising and didn't do it while losing the weight. Although I did become more active as I lost the weight.

Now, just because I feel so good not dragging around 170 excess pounds, I've started working out. Three days a week I go into the fitness center at the college where my husband works cuz I have free access and I use the weights...free weights and the exercise machines. Right now I'm focusing on keeping my leg and butt muscles toned (lots of muscle already from dragging around what was essentially a full grown man and I'm working on building upper body muscle...which is almost nonexistent...along with strengthening my abs to help eliminate back pain.

Two days I go to an old people's aerobics class where the aerobics and step are interspersed with walking/jogging (personal preference). Then, depending on the weather, I'll go out on weekends or evenings and walk with my husband. Nothing strenuous...about 3 miles per hour.

So in total I'm doing about 1.5 hours of something per day, 6 days a week, at the minimum.

Thanks for starting this thread out again, Loretta!! I appreciate it!

We have been walking, pacing, up and down, and all around, that big IKEA store is quite a place, if you lived near one, you could walk your legs up into your neck!! Wish my ankle felt better. We walked the whole store, looking at couches, tables, and tables to hold the tv on. Didn't buy anything, yet.

Did a lot of walking in the Costco this morning. I wanted to go out this evening but my heel won't let me. I'll give it a rest and get the dogs walked in the morning. They don't mind. Will do some wall push ups before bed.

Exercise was great! I did a 35 min. walk and weather was lovely. Later will do some upper body.

Only about an hour and a half in air conditioned store. It was extremely hot and humid.

That is it for today. Tomorrow it won't be much either. We are going to an RV Resort and they don't have an air conditioned , large store around there.

Glad to see you guys are still getting your "stuff" done, outside, inside, or whatever. Sometimes we miss a day or so, but at least we are in the ballpark.
I've been on the feet for hours, we are unpacking and there are tons of boxes.....then, once unpacked, trying to figure out where to put it all, lol. Just wearing us out, dh says he feels like he did after a day of work, and he worked outside all the time building roads, hanging from the dams, and so forth. I'm pooped, my back is bent out of sight, ankle and heel sore, but oh well. Sharon, do you ever have to wear one of those boots on your heel area? Wondering if they help or not.

See you later in the week, internet might be on at the weekend or something like that, but not sure yet. Had to buy a modem though.

No Doris so far I'm not wearing a protection boot. I have been wearing open back shoes that seem to help. Mine is a hard area that doesn't like to be closed in.

Walking back and forth, up and down our larger house, it seems so BIG to us, and the hallway is so long, lol. Also, the house sits on an upgrade, so you have to walk like a small hill to get from the street to the house.

That's it, I haven't unpacked my weights yet, but I know they packed them though.

Sounds like you are getting things together Doris. You might be able to keep your old phone # if it is a cell phone. I use straight talk and transferred my number from my tracfone to it.

I think I understand what you northeasterners and southerners are talking about a lot clearer now, when you talk about the heat and humidity.....my goodness! dh and I could shower several times a day if we had the time, lol. We have been trying out the shower at the house already, even though we won't sleep there until Thursday or Friday.
Sticky heat, damp heat, making you want to drink anything iced, and not want to cook with an oven that heats up the house.

Asics are usually around a hundred and up. They are wonderful if you like the gel which makes for a more comfortable walk or run. The ones for a hundred are the ones I buy. They usually last about 6 months before I can feel the gel is flat. My walk today was really nice. We went out with the dogs on a nice walking path.

Thanks, I'm happy to say I have Kohl's in several areas near where we live now Just came back with daughter in law from shopping at Target, I was so surprised to see all kinds of people out shopping there after 9 pm, including people with small kids and babies, lol. Where we lived before, the store closed at 8 pm.

Didn't exercise except staying on my feet all day emptying boxes and putting stuff away, and that's it.

Same old unpacking, walking from one end of the house to the other, over and over, and in this house, it makes a difference, lol. We shopped at Sam's after having dinner out this evening, now we are tuckered out, back is sore, hands are sore, etc. Need a vacation!

Exercise was good today. We took the dogs to the lake walk. We know know where the R. fair is being held. Not going but good it won't interfere with the walking paths.
