What did JUDDD do to me????




I just got back from an eight day trip to Anaheim (had to take my daughter to a National dance competition). I gave up on JUDDD after about day 2 - our schedule was nuts, healthy food was outrageously expensive, it was just too much. I gave up and enjoyed myself - eating whatever. I was a bit worried because I have a hugely important family function this weekend and I need to fit into my dress.

I got on the scale yesterday morning - first time in 9 days - and I weighed EXACTLY the same weight - to the 10th of a pound - as I did the day we left.





WHAT the heck??????? Has anyone else experienced anything else like this???

It's amazing, isn't it! I had a similiar experience after vacation, but I did stick to my rotatiions. Still I was surprised and very pleased!

That's fantastic! Was it before your first down day back that you weighed the same? Sometimes all the running around burns off the extra calories.

I recently lost a pound during a vacation during which I didn't follow rotations for five days, but I had to do one down day before the loss showed. (also a lot of physical activity like backpacking, swimming, etc. was involved). Since the vacation I've been losing really well, too. I kind of feel like it reset my metabolism somehow? Don't know ...

calichris - no, it was after a rather embarrassing UD on Sunday - including ice cream, In and Out Burger and a lot of snacks (driving from CA to NM in one loooooong trip with only me and my 11 y/o).

This is great to hear! I have not had that experience. I packed on 9 pounds after about 9 days off plan, but they were gone after a couple of good rotations, so I'll take that too - I guess it was mostly water weight. Congratulations for doing so well!

Yea, my vacation was like LCG's experience, but, hey, I was happy I was back at a low after 2 DDs! Wouldn't have happened on another plan!

Oh, this is so fantastic to hear!!! I am leaving for vacation in exactly 2 weeks. I am hoping to remain on the rotations when I am away, but I won't have any control over what we eat. I am going to Okinawa, Japan to see my husband's family. We will be staying with them and counting on them for every meal. I know, I know. This Atkins girl of 14 years is going to the land of rice and noodles LOL. Not too many people realize that Japanese eat more noodles than rice--at least in Okinawa they eat more noodles. My kids are going to be in heaven. I am glad I have switched to JUDDD. Hoping I can indulge a bit and not have it reflected in my weight.

I've had it happen both ways, with either no gain or a teeny tiny gain, or a huge gain in just a few days that went away with just 2 or 3 DDs. I agree, no other plan is as forgiving!

I too have had both experiences. Zero weight gained on a 5 day vacation to St. Thomas and 7 pounds gained on a 5 day trip to Florida, but with the 7 pound gain it was gone in 2 rotations, so no big deal.

JUDDD is amazing which ever way you look at it. I also have never dreaded coming home and going straight back to rotations. This has not been my experience with getting back to low carb. With low carb I would feel like I needed to have everything (food related) that I ever wanted before I got back on plan. With JUDDD I actually look forward to that DD after 5 days of eating.

I have had the experience of not gaining after a week of no rotations (but not a real vacation, unfortunately), but it seemed to stall me from losing in the long run, after the initial few DDs. I hope that once I get to goal, it will be easier.

Yep...after blowing off any thoughts of dieting for about 5 weeks, and gaining 12lbs (really?) I lost 6 in 10 days...it's like my body was waiting for the fasts.

Digital scales have a "memory" of the last weight, and if the next weight is less than 2lbs (or maybe just 1lb) different, it might show the last weight. If no one used your scale while you were on vacation, it might have been "stuck".

When my digital scale seems stuck, I get on with a small weight (at least 3lbs) to "jog" it, then get back on and use that reading.
