D: Teambuilding dinner at work so everyone agreed on Chinese food. Seasame chicken and broccoli, no rice. I'll eat half and save the rest for Thursday.

Best wishes during the move! It's such an arduous process (just moved mid-May), but it's nice once you make some progress and get settled

Of course today is an UD and I have no appetite and no idea what I would like to eat. Where was this feeling yesterday when I had the chocolate attack! Ah well.

B- small cup of coffee with hwc and sf vanilla syrup, peggy's bread slice with WF sf marshmallow spread
L - will have e shortened lunch break as I'm running the evening clinic @ the hospital, so probably snacks like nuts and chocolate
D- will thaw some chicken breasts and make creamy parmesan chicken with homemade tomato sauce

Good morning all!

Slow - MCT oil?

Wren - homemade chicken soup sounds yummy! It's Really hot here, we don't think to make that in the summer...and yet, it sounds so good!

Dawn - Will there be a cocktail tonight?

Lisa - Chinese food, YUMMY!

Adi - YUCK on the office move. We did that 3 years ago, it took me MONTHS to adjust! Good luck!

Pina - Nuts and chocolate, That sounds good too!

Me, it is VBS week so eating, house stuff, you name it are tough to fit in. Our nights are FULL!

B- 2 eggs, waffle 280c
S - protein granola 190c
L - chicken pasta salad 560c
D - trying a new crock pot chicken recipe. 400c with veggies

Medium chain-triglyceride oil (MCT). Some people take coconut oil (CO) in coffee or to nudge them towards ketosis but I take MCT as it's the part of coconut oil that I want, and I emphatically don't have the calorie allowance to eat up to 12Tbsp of CO per day.

On a good day, I would say that taking MCT oil is helping me stay with a ketogenic-based plan that I'm using as a non-pharmaceutical method for reducing the frequency and intensity of migraine.

On a day when I'm feeling mardy/grumpy/out of sorts or generally then I whinge to myself about what a massive number of calories this is for any given DD or UD when I'd rather be eating some proper food.

However, even during an ' about calories' day, I must acknowledge that I haven't had a headache in 7 days which is remarkable given the sizeable swings in barometric pressure we're experiencing at present. I've had some of the usual symptoms that accompany migraines (swelling and bruising of my face/head; light sensitivity; nose episodically runs like a tap; some GI disturbance) but none of the pain. It may be that I've switched to the so-called 'silent migraine' (everything but the pain) but even that feels like progress.

Once I've worked up to enough MCT oil (and other changes in eating) to have been migraine-free for 4 weeks, I want to start experimenting with cutting back so that I have a little more freedom with foodstuffs. (Because I'm taking so many calories in oil form and this is reducing the volume of food that I eat, I'm also supplementing with unmodified potato starch on UD to feed appropriate gut flora - and this feels like another gobbler of calories without any taste benefit as it's somewhere between 80-160kcals.)

Probably a more detailed answer than anyone needed.

Here's my plan:

B: skipping, will have the cals at lunch and dinner
L: not sure, either eggs and whatnot, or something less breakfasty. I do have a whole breakfast planned for 640 cal

D: rib steak, steamed veggies, sf ice cream and maybe chocolate

shooting for 2000-2100 and tracking everything.

Out for slow lunch today, so not very hungry but have healthy calories to fit in.

Lunch: Salmon and prawn salad with 2 cappuccinos - about 700 cals
Tea: 2 slices wholemeal toast with butter and blackcurrant jam, plus a chunk of cheddar - about 350 cals
Dinner: 2 scrambled eggs with mushrooms on big salad - about 300 cals.
Chocolate - 100ish
Cuppas: 30 cals

Total = about 1500 cals

Rode the scooter today, so I'm not going to the Vietnamese place for lunch. It requires freeway travel, and I'm not yet confident enough to go on the freeway.

I ended up with the green tomatillo chicken tamale, the jalapeno and cheese tamale, and they were out of the carrot cake, so I got a blueberry and cream cheese tamale.

They were really good!
