Do you count the carbs in heavy cream?

Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts are on this. I'm doing a fat fast and thought at first something was wrong because my carbs seemed so high despite eating mostly fat. Then I realized that between now and my last fat fast (last year) I've become a super strict carb counter, and I've started counting 2 tablespoons of cream as 1 carb when I used to count it as 0 carbs. Just got me curious on what the general thought is on how to count cream when doing low carb

I count carbs in cream. It's really not 0, that is just a labeling convention, as I understand it.
I round up to 1 as I'd rather err on the side of overcounting than undercounting. It's also good to measure, although sometimes I am lazy about this.

Most cream that says 0 is .4 carbs per serving. So you can round up to 1 if you want to be overly safe, .5 if you want to be just slightly safe, and just use .4 if you want to use the given average count.

Yes, I always count it. But carb counts in cream can vary...if you're using a cream with stabilizers (carrageenan or whatever), the carb levels can be a bit higher. When I switched to a pure cream with NO additives, I lowered the carb count a little bit. I'd have to check and see what it is now (it's been over a year and I forget the exact count).

But all of those little dribs and drabs of carbs add up over a day.

In my world there is no such thing as a 'free' carb. I count them all.

any games you play with "not counting" things are just games. your body doesn't recognize those rules. I say, do your best to get the correct count and use it. good luck!

My tracker says there are 0.8 g carb in one fluid ounce of heavy cream (that's 2 tbl).
Keep calm and carry on.

Yes - I always count 1 carb for my coffee cream and 2 carbs when I use homemade whipped topping on my sugar-free jello.
