New to this forum and back to the low carb world
Let's try it again
Shey everyone... I am ready for a new me... a short introduction... I have never been the fat girl with the pretty face. Growing up I had a chunky body and a scary face. I used to go to bed at night and pray that G-d would just let me have one or the other. So here I am at 30 and still battling both. My skin is Roscea and I have to live with it. But this body, not anymore. After 2 kids, one is 7 and the other 2. I am hoping to teach them a new way of being healthy. I have done Atkins before and lost a ton of weight which helped me to get pregnant. I have recently been diagnosed with celiac which I figured because whenever I was low carb I always felt amazing. So here I am again, but this time I am not just looking to lose weight I am looking to change my life.
Anyone who is having a hard time sticking to this, please message me and we can be buddies... anyone who is amazing at all this and also has kids please message me too, so I have something to aspire too.
Its hard, I grew up in Southern Cali in a little beach town where everyone weighs 120 or less, so even 10-15 years later it is still in the back of my mind. It just seems like such a mountain to climb.
Oh well, welcome my fellow Low-carb friends, lets get the all terrain shoes on and lets get this mountain started!!!

Welcome. I think it is a good thing to have something other than how we look to inspire us. Whether it be your health or setting a good example for your children, additional incentive can't hurt. To be honest, I have lost this wt 3 times but always eventually regained it. This time, I have a health issue that really requires me to lose and keep it off. I feel differently about things this time. It is less about my appearance and more about managing a chronic health condition. Only time will tell if this is the motivator I need to keep me at a reasonable wt, but I am hopeful. Your kids need you HEALTHY. Keep that in your heart when the going gets tough.

Welcome to the forum! We are glad to have you here! Reading and posting here almost daily is one of the things that has helped me stay focused and motivated. Looking at my kids helps too! I am doing this for my health, but I am truly driven by my desire to be there for my kids longer. In the Atkins Induction forum we have a monthly challenge where we share daily progress/struggles/success. You are certainly welcome to join us! Hi and welcome - I've been "living low carb" for more than 10 years - the fact that you know you feel good eating low carb will help you through those tough times - I still come to this site to stay motivated and see new ideas. Congrats on committing to this way of life - for your health and for your kids - they need you to be around a long time and you will teach them healthy habits.

I have 2 kiddos, 16 yr old son and 12 yr old daughter. I've been slowly incoopreating LC into their and my husbands lives. It's harder with them because they are so used to eatting the little debbies and breads etc. But i'm getting there with them Lol!
Like Julie said we have a monthly challenge on the induction board so come join us! It's not a challenge against anyone but ourselves and more of a support. There are so many incrdible people on LCF so post often. This is my 3rd time doing LC. This time Thank God it's stuck with me and I Love LC!!

Welcome to the forum and best wishes for success. I do not want to get your hopes up but do google rosacea and lowcarb diet together . It is only anecdotal evidence but worth a shot. You might have already done so if you have been on Atkins before, but if you have not it might be interesting reading.

I have two boys, ten and one. They are both low carb, although the ten year old slips up a lot. I talk about the health aspect of low carb to them. It is healthier way for the whole family to eat.
