For those who do Potato Down Days....

I know the theory behind the Potato Hack for days on end (or weeks) is to re-set your body's sensitivity to carbs but do those of you who only do Potato days on DD's but then eat regular on UDs find that it has the same effect?

I think some people eat potatoes on DDs so that they can have more calories, along with whatever other benefits it might have. I really have never understood the science behind it...something about it making your blood sugar go up, but there's no fat to process it, so it has to use your body fat? I tried a few times, but can't eat just one food, one day or several days in a row, no matter how you slice it.

So when people do potato days they don't count calories? They just eat to fullness?

I did not eat potatoes nonstop. When I do potato DD's I still keep my calories below 600 but I am in maintenance. Potatoes allowed me to have higher calories on DD's without gaining.
To lose I do HB eggs on my DD's.

There have been several threads on potato down days with great input. A quick search should get you all the info you need.
