From The HCG Diet To Atkins

Hi, Everybody! I am currently on the hcg diet but plan on doing atkins in about a week from now. I have lost 17.6 lbs so far on hcg in 34 days.

My question is which phase to start in. Should I start in induction or OWL. I have about 45lb left to lose. Any incite would be appreciated!

I would recommend starting with induction. It will help your metabolism adjust fully to LC. I don't know much about hcg and the diet that goes with it except it is pretty low calorie? Don't expect the big whoosh weight loss in the first two weeks that many people see when they begin Atkins, since you have already been losing weight, you might not have they big water loss.

I plan to stay close to induction eating for a long time, but I have a lot more to lose

HCG diet is a very low calorie diet (about 500 per day) with daily injections of the HCG hormone. Over the years it has changed with people using homeopathic versions or HCG drops in their mouth instead of injections. I've done it several times (injections and homeopathic). The injection version requires a prescription from a doctor. It is actually a hormone used in fertility treatments. My doc's insurance wouldn't let him prescribe it for weight loss after the first time I did it because it was a non FDA approved use of the drug.

Supposedly the HCG hormone stops hunger and forces your body to burn fat. For me I was always hungry & weak. But you will lose 30-40 lbs in 6 weeks. I never kept it off for long....
