Question about yeast

This may be TMI, so be warned.

Can a weight gain be linked to overgrowth of yeast? Was taking an antibiotic which cause a yeast infection. Around the same time I started noticing symptoms, I also noticed my weight popped up about five pounds for no apparent reason. I immediately stopped taking the meds and treated the infection, but it was immediately followed by my TOM so I haven't seen a significant drop back to the previous weight.

Could the two, yeast and weight gain, be related? Or am I just trying to find a reason for a perfectly normal weight fluctuation (it had been slowly but steadily going down up until that point)?

Sorry you haven't gotten any responses yet. I absolutely believe candida/weight gain are interlinked. Dr. Atkins talks about candida in his books, as does Valerie Berkowitz in Stubborn Fat Fix. You might want to pick up one of those from the library (if you don't already have one). Hope that helps a little.
