bit of a dilemma, advice please ...
Ok so I started JUDDD on Saturday with my first DD which went really well, managed to keep to my UD cals yesterday but being at work today on a DD has been a nightmare! I had it all planned out but I've now had 800 cals
![]() Should I go home and have a normal dinner? (Its 5:30pm and just got on the train home) and make tomorrow a DD instead? I'm so angry at myself ![]() |

You're just easing yourself into JUDDD. Keep to your rotation if you can and tomorrow will be an UD - don't try and take the calories back.
With luck, you know what the sticking points are likely to be on a work day and come up with a solution for them. So, you've learned something useful. Things like this will happen in the first couple of weeks. |

Way too much time on my hands!

Genie, you have not failed! Adjusting in the beginning is just part of the process. Like SlowSure says, you'll have to come up with some work-day strategies to make DDs work for you. And you will. I have found over the almost 8 months I've been doing this that I'm constantly making adjustments, even now! JUDDD changes you, and you have to be ready and open to what it wants to teach you about yourself.
PLEASE don't be angry with yourself! Don't get frustrated and give up! One day is just one day. Not like LC, where one indulgence sets you back for days. Just pick back up where you left off and keep on! ![]()

Don't beat yourself up at all. 800 calories is still pretty darn low, especially when you are not used to it. I actually just did the same thing yesterday but it was a weekend, but I am listening to my experienced JB's here and making today my regularly scheduled UD. Funny enough...I only had about 800 cal yesterday but today I am struggling making it an UD!! ha! imagine that.

Gina, I agree with everyone else. You are just starting out. You will have to figure out some "go to" items. I have XX for work and XX different ones for home. You are doing fine. Just go with it. Dinner tonight, if you can keep it to 100c, I say then call it a GREAT JUDDD DAY!

I completely agree with everyone. You are not a failure. 800 calories is still low and you're just starting on the JUDDD path. You are doing great. :-)

That's a low MD so call it a success!!!
I try to keep some other things handy on a DD like pickles - they are my best friend on some days. You can eat a lot of pickle at only 5 calories each! And of course I drink tons of tea and water. Cucumber slices sprinkled with salt have helped me also. Lots of people will suggest broth but I am not so good at just drinking plain broth. |

Yup, I'm going to agree with everyone else and say that 890 is not too bad for a DD. You are just starting out, and your appetite will diminish a lot as you go. A tip that works really well for me -- keep it low carb on DD's -- it REALLY helps with the munchies. Seriously, hardly a DD goes by that I don't have bacon strips and a tomato for one meal (100 cal. even if the tomato isn't too big! :P) and also a piece of fish (I like Gordon's grill, I think they're called) and a half a can of green beans -- super satisfying for 110 cal, and you won't be craving the carbs later. Good luck, Girl -- you're gonna do this!

Yes, try to think of it as a good MD! I'm the same with multi-packs of snack foods. I will eat the entire box in one day.
![]() LoCarbGal has a good point too, JUDDD is much more forgiving than low carb. |

No problemo! I couldn't stick to 500 cals either for a while! It takes time to get used to the extreme calorie restriction, and no wonder. It will get easier and easier, so just move on and don't beat yourself up.

Thanks again guys!
I can feel a loss round my stomach, my work clothes are getting looser so decided I need to start measuring instead of weighing. I might try not to weigh now until the end of May x |

I sure hope that you won't get discouraged, you will see if you read other's experiences on here that Juddd is a process of adjusting., and sometimes the scale is not a friend at first. I do believe that having patience and doing the rotations will bring you success. . I found it so helpful to go back in the pages and read what so many of the successful ones here had written when they started out. I learned enough to keep me going even thru times where I would have quit, in the past. I call Carly my Nike example. Just Do It..haha..well and she has, and she continues to have that kind of approach , you can see it really does work well that way, but nothing says you have to do it exactly the same way someone else does.,, what I found so comforting is the fact that this plan is successful and it got easier for me when I learned to trust it..I have a ways to go but the only way I'm gonna get there is to Just Do It .. the best that I can. Everyone on here is so helpful and understanding, that makes a huge difference also.
