Hi all, new to this site. I'm in Induction but very much interested in books by Jennifer Eloff to keep me interested as I move forward. I've lost 17.5 lbs so far and looking for any suggestions to help me keep the interest with variety food. Missing pizza and bread for sure!

hi and welcome. people have all sorts of "induction friendly" recipes for stuff like pizza, but I suggest you don't even look at them. depending on how much you have to lose, eating very plain food for AT LEAST two weeks is your best start. then when you branch out a little, you appreciate it more. induction is about "cleansing" your mind and body to some extent, so being a little spartan is not a bad thing.

It helps, sometimes, though, to know that things like pizza aren't gone from your life forever. (I had pizza last night. In a pizza-joint. I ate everything but the crust. But I've been doing this a year, now. That's reflex for me, at this point, and I know that I'm not gonna cave and eat something I shouldn't.)

It IS important to stick to plan through Induction, though. Two weeks -- you can live without pizza for two weeks.

Everyone has triggers -- foods they can't eat without having cravings, or foods that make them stall/start gaining for no obvious reason.

Induction gives you a nice, "clean" plan with all the most common "triggers" removed. As you move past Induction and start to get a handle on things, you'll slowly introduce more foods, and in the process discover which ones cause you problems and which ones don't. You'll likely develop/discover some new favorites, and find ways to deal with the things you miss.

I make "cookies", and baked chocolate cupcakes for my son's birthday... all of which I can eat. There are recipes around here for bread in its various forms... And a thousand and one solutions for the ever tempting pizza. Oh, and cheesecake. Let us not forget cheesecake!

But first... get through Induction. You can do this. And it's SO going to be worth it!

The stricter you are, the less craving's you'll have. Just forget about bread, crackers, cakes, anything with flour. I wouldn't even mess with "low-carb" breads or tortillas. Testing has shown that most claims are way over-stated and that they do affect your blood sugar.

I would search for KevinPa's bread recipes and make them yourself... later after induction. The recipes are quite elaborate though and require ingredients you can't find at any local store so you'll have to order them on-line.

I gotta agree with everyone who said to eat Clean for awhile Before trying LC recipes. You need that time to get your body adjusted to LC woe.
