What Spices Do You Like From Penzeys?

Headed to Penzey's later today. I am in love with their Mexican Vanilla. What other spices do you recommend?

Oh man how I WISH I had a Penzeys store nearby! I order online.

I love their Vietnamese cinnamon, peppercorns, their cocoa powders are good (although I really like the Hersheys Special Dark best of all) and a lot of their proprietary blends are good too.

I get whole seeds from them too - coriander, anise, caraway, mustard, allspice, nutmeg etc. They're always fresh and they're wonderful in Indian foods - you toast them up in a pan and then grind - oh what wonderful aromas!

I love the cinnamon and so many others. I just go around, sniff and buy. I buy small containers since I don't cook a lot anymore and that helps keep my stash fresh.

Big Penzeys fan here. When I'm in Santa Monica I always stop in, mostly I buy on line. Arizona Dreaming, BBQ 3000, Chicago Steak Seasoning are allgreat. I use the Pizza Seasoning sprinkled on low carb Focaccia bread before baking, and I love their sweet curry powder. I just starred using the Minced Garlic, so convenient. I also buy my extracts from Penzeys and herbs like basil, dill, thyme, oregano...

I really like their toasted onion powder (recommended by LindaSue) and any of their chile powders, all very good! The store is an olfactory delight, we are lucky to have one in the Phoenix metro area.

My favorite is their Ceylon cinnamon...haven't tried the Vietnamese yet. Also, love the dried jalape˝os.

I'm a couple days late, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fox Point blend (mix of salt, shallots, chives, garlic, onion and green peppercorns). I use it in/on everything...eggs, chicken, salads, veggies. And it rocks as a dip when mixed with sour cream (and usually a touch of mayo to richen it a bit). It doesn't contain any anti-caking agents so is best kept in the fridge, especially in humid conditions.

99% of my herbs, spices and extracts (all of which I have a ridiculous amount of!) come from Penzeys and they are all very good quality. I've never had a bummer from them.
