uk carbers flax seed ?

according to the packs at holland and barrett the flax seed contains something like 36 carbs per 100 g, but looking at food lists such as the atkins site it should only have 4.6 carbs per 100g. Any of you out there know where to buy these lower carb flax seeds?

are you forgetting to subtract the fiber out? I know european packaging is different that way, but almost all the carbs in flax are fiber carbs.
Often I don't come back to read threads where I've posted. If you want me to see something, please send me a private message. Thanks!

I thought European, or U.K. labels already deducted the fiber.

I can't believe that there is such a difference in the flax seeds there and here. I would go by the nutritional analysis that you can find online. Flax seeds have hardly any carbs after you deduct the fiber.

Just checked my new zealand pack and it says 34.6 gms per 100. Fiber was not on the list at all.

hi there, reading your post made me start checking

linwoods already ground says 1.7 per 100g even the flavoured ones arent much more. but the whole seed brands all say around 34 ish.

makes me wonder if when u ground it u get a lot more volume than u do for the seeds. tho i cant see u would get so much more to account for the different values

i have always used the H&B own brand as the linwoods works out more expensive. its not been a problem for me so i would go with that even tho i cant explain the carb differences sorry

by the way there is a UK thread under the lowcarb challenges section if u want to come join us
