New Diet Revolution Book vs atkins.com

I have just started researching the Atkins plan and am very confused.
In the 2002 published book "Dr Atkings New Diet Revolution" it states that you can only have 2 to 3 cups of approved vegetables per day and also "Eat no more than 20 g a day of carbohydrate, most of which must come in the form of salad greens and other vegetables"

On Atkins.com it states "Eat no more than 20 grams a day of Net Carbs, 12 to 15 grams of them as foundation vegetables. This means you can eat approximately six loosely packed cups of salad and two cups of cooked vegetables per day. Remember, carb counts of various vegetables vary, so be sure to check them."

If I stick to the book, I don't see how I am going to get 12 -15 carbs a day in vegetables.
I do like the idea of having up to 6 cups of salad a day.

Has anyone followed the guide on the website and had success?
What do you follow?

There are also "other vegetables" listed in the book

Hi- there is a list of "salad vegetables" which you can eat 2-3 cups per day.
There is also a list of "other vegetables" which you can eat one cup of, if you do not eat more than 2 cups of the salad vegetables. They have a little more carb in them.
I also count the carbs in jarred spices and herbs as vegetables(even if they say <1 g)- as they are not fat and not protein.

I hope I helped.

Thank you
I just want to make sure about vegetables...
Is the 2-3 cups of "salad Vegetables" the total allowed in one day of any combination of approved listed vegetables?
example: 1 c Romaine Lettuce
1/2 c mushrooms
1/2 c cucumbers
and then I can add 1/2 c Kale
1/2 c broccoli

Than I would have to divide that up and have 1 cup of the combination at each meal?
