Met a goal- finally under 170

Scale hasn't seen 169 in 14 years. Yahoo! Thanks for all who said to up my fat and lower protein. I started using a tracker and realized I was eating too much protein.

I'm doing about 1700-1800 cals a day, with 75-80% fat, 4% carbs and 80 gram of protein a day. It's tough, but I'm losing. I'm not used to so little food once it's replaced with fat. Theres not much to enjoy at the whole "sitting down and eating" thing they call a meal. Oh well, I'm losing! I guess with all the oversized portions one gets used to seeing alot of food on their plate. Just isn't true. We don't need that much!

Dani

It gets easier with time. I felt so deprived when I first started eating less protein, but now I find that some days I haven't eaten enough. Good for you!

Yippee!! It is an adjustment to begin with. One thing that really helps with bulking up the protein for me is a big bowl of romaine lettuce with my protein on top and a nice homemade dressing. Or another great food is shirataki noodles! I never feel deprived!! KUTGW!! Btw, I too broke that barrier of 170 last week. Feels wonderful! At first, I thought my scale must have broken!!

That is great news! Congratulations!!! Everybody is different, and it's awesome that you have found what will help you meet your goals! I tried doing higher fat/lower protein and I agree, it was way easy to stack up the calories with very little bulk of food. Didn't work for me, I need more lean protein to lose apparently. I am so glad you're getting to where you want to be, and hope the dietary adjustment isn't too much of a pain in the butt lol!

Yay! And you, too, Clackley!

I will be so stoked if I ever get to 169. A couple of years ago I hit 173 for about a minute, but I haven't been below that in, ugh... Many years.

Congrats, Dani! So you're almost at your goal of 165? That's fantastic!

You've been sticking with your program like a champ, Jayne! You'll get to where you want to be.
