5/2 - March 3 - 9, stop on in everyone!

So here we are JUDDDing along with 5/2! I find it a bit easier then just JUDDD - on my UD I ate too much because the next day would be a DD I find 5/2 better for me because I do not over- eat the day before.

My #'s are 1528 and 535, what are yours?

I am doing 500 and whatever. Sometimes is is under 500 hundred.

Today will be around 1,500. Yesterday was a lot more.

I aim for Monday and Thursday DDs

I'm enjoying it too! Today is my 2nd DD, as I've just been winging it this week. Next week I plan to get in two DDs before the weekend. I don't really know what my numbers are supposed to be? According to JUDDD it would be 1870, 370...

If I go by JUDDD numbers, I should only eat around 1500 a day with two 500 DDs for the same amount of calories...yuck lol...I might try 1600, and try to do 600 for breafast and lunch, 1000 for dinner.

Yours is to maintain, and mine is to lose...so if you can maintain at that, I should definitely lose at 40 lbs heavier.

No, but I figured out the weeks calories with 1870 UD (4) and 370 DD (3), and with only 2 DDs, I'll need to have 1500-1600 UDs (and 2 500 DDs). Really it should be closer to 1500. On alternate weeks, if I follow the weekly calories of JUDDD, with 4 DDs, then I would only be able to eat 1218 5 days, with 2 500 DDs.

At 2000 calories a day, you would wind up with nearly 1600 a day average (with 2 500 DDs), and would hardly lose. I believe you should be eating a good bit more, since you're maintaining (than 1500).

I did the same math you did Library girl and we're about the same weight. I will be starting with 1600 UD and 350 DD hoping to LOSE, NOT maintain. Tomorrow is my first DD. I will be doing Mon and Thursday DDs.

You could add 200-300 on one UD and have 1290 one UD, etc. You don't necessarily have to do the same UD calories all 5 days.

What is your TDEE or whatever it's called lol (calories needed to maintain)? If you're at 1600 to maintain, you could eat 2000 5 days a week with 500 DDs only twice a week.

I'm positive it will work. I don't believe it would work with not counting or UUADs, like I was doing with eod, but definitely if we stick to these calories there's no way it won't work.

I've been reading 5:2; but, I'm not finished yet. According to Dr. Mosley, I should be eating a lot more on UD's. But, I guess I'm still not used to being at goal & am afraid to eat that many calories!

Ok, Natasha, you can have 1560 5 days, and 500 DDs (2 days) according to my calculations. That is, 1900 x 4, + 400 x 3, - 1000 (for the DDs)/5 = 1560.

If you ate 1900 a day, plus 2 DDs of 500 each, you would average 1500 calories a day. With a little wiggle room.

Shari, I haven't calculated an up number other than what I got from the online calculator, normal calories 1932, 20% weight loss mode 386. Do I need to take a percentage of normal calories for ud?

I'm not up to 2000, it varies on dd but with 500 or a little less 2x -my average calories to date this week is about 1200/day. Today was my 6th day of my 4th week.

I haven't finished the book either but am anxious to.

I almost had a trainwreck yesterday, I decided to do a 24 hour fast until dinner last night on a dd, then today I was so really_ really_ hungry, I didn't get satisfied and back to normal until this afternoon,

ETA daily calores, etc this week ..

Thank you Cindy! Is that a little high? I'm 70 and have low thyroid and haven't begun exercising yet. My weight loss was really slow on Atkins and so much faster so far with 5/2.

I'm not sure what you need in order to lose....ok, again according to my calculations at 1932 x 4, + 386 x 3, - 1000 (for 2 DDs)/5 = 1577 cals per day, 5 days a week. That is for weight loss. Thank you! Im trying to decide to stay on Juddd or do this 5:2. Decisions, decisions! I guess with these numbers in mind I could possibly do 5:2 if needed for an eventful week.
