Weightloss Quiz

on WebMD...

Now, obviously, they were going to be dead wrong on a lot of stuff, but I "love" this bit, in response to which carbs one should banish from one's diet:

Quote:
Despite the popularity of carbohydrate-free diets, your body needs this important fuel to work.

It's healthiest to ditch carbs from non-diet sodas and junk food and animal fats, while still eating some carbs from whole grains, fruits, and veggies.
(emphasis mine)

Really? We should ditch the CARBS in animal fats?

Um, yeah... I'll get right on that.

Well, olive oil, avocados, nuts, coconut oil and all that are good for you, so they kind of aren't totally off base. (nothing wrong with animal fats, but there are other sources, like these, that "both sides" agree are healthy )

But they weren't talking about oils/fats in that question. (That was a different question.) They were talking about CARBOHYDRATES.

And they're trying to tell me that animal fat CONTAINS CARBOHYDRATES (it doesn't), and that therefore I should avoid it.

I figured that was an editing error and they meant it like "as well as avoid animal fats".

Animal fats do include carbs. Buns, processed meats, and fries. (roll your eyes icon)
