Bacon calories

The bacon I buy is 20 calories a slice. Does that mean if I cook 3 slices, then use the fat left over to fry onions/cabbage there's no additional calories (from the bacon fat)? I'm not asking about the vegetable calories, just the bacon fat.

I have always counted it that way, because I don't see how it could be more calories? The bacon fat just goes into oil form.

hopefully that is correct.

Depends if the calories are based on the cooked or raw bacon.

Ok, yes that would be true, Dawn. I hadn't thought of that, lol. I'm not at home to check the package, but as usual planning what I'm going to cook.

ETA: BUT, even if I ate it raw, I would still be eating the same amount of fat, right? All I'm doing is heating the bacon and the fat is becoming liquid. If the nutrition label said, "calories after draining fat" then it would be different. I'm not sure how raw vs cooked would make any difference except in weight?

Okay, I answered my own question. After cooking and taking it out of the fat, it would be lighter, of course. So if calorie count is after cooking, fat would be additional calories.

My pkg of bacon says 1 serving is "2 pan-fried slices (14g)", and there are 6 servings in the package.
So 6x14= 84, but the entire package is 454g!!!

So it looks like that's info for drained bacon.

I'd find the nutritional info for raw bacon, and use that. That would include the liquefied fat.

Low fat Gwaltney bacon in the green package. It should be everywhere.
