UGH

I was in high hopes to try something that sounds so good to have to eat on my UD
I shopped yesterday. Looking for Xmas goodies to share and eat, myself. Smile.
Found Pumpernickel bread! Excited ok I've never had it.
Took a small nibble for my first food today. It was gross.
Toaster it - still gross.
I can either make a moccasin from it. Of feed it to the wild winter birds.
That maybe abuse though. I 'll think on it.
Hey rum balls!?
So much for my new experimenting new foods.

So does anyone else eat the stuff?
Is so how please?

I LOVE pumpernickel bread! It's good on a Reuben sandwich, which you may also think is gross. It's corned beef (or pastrami), swiss cheese, sauerkraut all toasted on rye or pumpernickel bread. Savory and yummy.

Me, I may be weird, but I like pumpernickel plain or with butter too. I like a hearty bread! Maybe yours is not so fresh and dried out?

I also eat toasted pumpkernickel with some cream cheese. Delish! But I guess it's not for everyone.

Try making a grilled cheese sandwich with it.....c'mon, everything is good with melty cheese. Or a patty melt! One of my favorite patty melts (at a local dive) is made with pumpernickel bread! Yum!

Dark heavy rye or pumpernickel with butter and liverwurst.

Sadly, Pumpernickel is not a taste that appeals to everyone. As hinted, try pairing it with strong flavors that kind of push it into their background.

Me? I adore it as a sandwich.

Or, if that does not appeal......birds and squirrels appreciate it.
