No food DD's

Does anyone completely fast on DD's? By that I mean no food, and only low calorie or no calorie liquids?

I had no food yesterday on my DD. Just water, coffee with almond milk, and broth. And it was easy and I felt great!

Does anyone else do this? I am considering doing this for all my DD's.

I've tried...but I end up getting a headache around 4 pm every time. If I eat veggies, salad/low cal dressing...I do fine...NO headaches. I don't feel too hungry, and my energy is good. Unfortunately, if it was only me I had to worry about...I would just ride it out...but I have kiddos who need homework help, dinner to make, nightly routines for the next day, etc., that have to get done

Yes, I've done it this way, and I feel fine. I don't do it as a rule because I enjoy having an evening meal with the hubby. There's just something about eating together, as we talk about our day's happenings.

I've done it a few times, but I really prefer to have a bedtime snack and now I take a medication 1x per day that needs to be taken with a little something so I don't think I will be doing it much anymore. It's great to do it if you can. Dr. J said 0 calorie DDs were optimal, but agreed that most people would not/ could not do that every other day- so he set the DD limit.

Carly- That makes sense. I don't think I will be able to do it every DD, but if I can, That is good. My calories weren't quite zero yesterday when I did it...They were 75 for the day, so I can't quite get all the way down to zero, lol

I've only done 0 calories 3x and that was unplanned. I almost always fast till my bedtime snack so getting to 9pm at 0 calories happens often, but those 3 times I wound up getting sick/headache/whatever and just went to sleep w/o the regular snack. I could not imagine that every DD, but on those 3 days it just happened.

According to Dr. J, the weight loss benefits are practically the same whether comets fasting or 500ish calories so I don't deprive myself. I eat on my DD's and enjoy it. Still lost just fine.

I've been JUDDDing just over three weeks and I did try one "liquid only" day. It went fine until about 6 p.m. when all I could do was think about food. I hate when this happens, but I stuck with it knowing I could eat as soon as I woke up the next day. I doubt i'll do it again.

Yep, I do. Yesterday's DD I had less than 100 cals, and those were from skim milk in my morning coffee. It was a great down day! However, I don't think it's really made a difference from my DDs where I eat a bit more. I do keep them under 400 for sure, though, anyways.

That's my druthers but I get cold (VERYcold!) AND Tired. I need to find a very low Cal
DD that works for me. I like the power that a no Cal all liquid DD gives me.

When my DD's are going well I could probably do it. In the last several weeks I've had several DD's where I didn't get around to any food at all until a smalle meal around 10pm. I felt fine until that time (generally a busy day), but I prefer to have something to eat before bed.

I used to do less than 100 calories on DD's but found (as Dr. J stated) that it made no difference if I had 300 so I rarely do a total fast anymore. But sometimes I do since it just works out that way.

I forgot to mention that doing a complete fast on my DD seems to break my ever frequent stalls. They seem to make a difference in my losses. I'm one of those odd ducks in that my weight doesn't bounce much at all, unless I do complete fasts. My body seems to love them.

I'm like a few of you, if I don't eat SOMETHING then I get a big headache. I also am trying to figure out what foods won't trigger a "OMG I NEED TO EAT ALL THE THINGS!" fit...which is kind of a process of elimination that sucks!

More power to ya if you can go all day without anything though! I wished I could.

Thanks for the info!
The first time I did this woe, JUDDD.
It was physical, very. We have a gentleman's farm 11 acres.
I was working out side most the day, mowing, digging dirt, cleaning up 50 years of
Tractor parts- plain trash on the property. climbing ladders, etc. everythin!
With the high summer heat, yikes was tough.
I could not eat low on dd. if I remember correctly.
A dd for me was 700 ish. Which worked, I lost wt.smile.
Fast forward a year. To now. I'm very inactive. Due to health, silly knees.
I can do the 500 dd now caz of not working out side or inside.
The more sedentary one is the lease calories we burn.
That so flapped me in the face.
happy less calorie day to us all.

I've done a couple zero or only liquid calorie DDs, but haven't noticed any greater loss or other benefits. I happily stick to my 200-400 calorie DDs now and am usually quite satisfied.

I've had more uncontrollable cravings today than usual. It's a UD, but it always makes me fearful. I hope I don't feel this way tomorrow! I have never done a total fast, but don't feel like I could because it is difficult for me to sleep on a completely empty stomach. I will wake up a couple of hours after sleeping and eat anything in sight.

Yep I am one who found that liquid only in my Coffee and water worked better for me, My experience was if i ate.. no matter what or how small ,, it seamed to open the door to un-stopable binge.. If i ate no food and only drank my water and coffee i can make it thru my DD with 120 cl from coffee creamer.. I look forward to my down days, i seam to feel the best, and think more clearly.. SO i have done them this was since last march.. I wish you best of luck in your journey!

I've done zero calorie DD the last two DDs and plan to do it again today. I don't notice any significance with weight loss but it helps to only have to count half the time. I feel fine, good even, and have no worries on my DDs which mentally helps me.

I do get headaches but they're mild and can be taken care of with 2 Advil or so. It's also easier to not eat than to make sure I don't eat too much. So right now it works for me, and I don't plan to go back any time soon.

Yeah, I've noticed I get so much more accomplished on my DD's because I am not constantly worried about what I'm going to it, having to take time to prep it, and make sure I get the calorie count right! It is easy!
